I'm the one that would have to fix it if someone else had hit it, so no. I had a mini excavator delivered, dug out the hole, cut the pipe and got it ready to fix Wednesday. We have parts and pieces for other stuff to pick up tomorrow, so a piece of 4" pipe and couplers was added to the list.

Nope. No prints either. But now it's marked and a set of "as builts" will be added to the file.

Hard to imagine a tornado with snow on the ground. Guessing it's pretty flat up your way.

Yup. I haven't painted my bedside supports yet. I wanna drill the holes with the support as a template. If I painted them, then I'd have to repaint the bedside support holes afterwards.
Also gonna use rivnuts to install my 1/4" rubber rear mud flaps this weekend.

:pccoffee: Wow, only 3 pages to catch up with.

We gave the Taco a small workout over the weekend. Rented one of these.

We put 9 hours on it the first day and 7 the next until SWMBO's hand went where it shouldn't and we had to hustle down to the ER to get her finger stitched up. Luckily it was a flesh wound only, no broken bones. Funny thing is that I injured the exact same finger (index finger left hand) while using a hydraulic splitter 3 years ago. We're hand twins now. o_O

This machine is awesome in action - 30 tons of force, height adjustable 6-point blade, another blade on the ram for really gnarly stuff (we used it a lot!), and a hydraulic lifting arm on the side for lifting those huge beasties onto the machine (and save old backs!). Even with this we only got through maybe half of the wood we have available for splitting. Most of the rest is still up in the woods, in 4-foot rounds. That's gonna be the next challenge.

    Thankfully didn't lose the finger.
Idk how I still have all my fingers.
I need to rent one of those sometime this summer instead of waiting till winter but we don't get as cold down here for as long.

Not flat so much where I am on the edge of the bluffs. And I live down in a ravine or ditch is what I call it. Once you get West of I-35 yeah nothing to stop the wind until you hit the Rockies. Some around here claim that because where I live a tornado wouldn't drop down and I'm safe. From what I've researched that is an old wives tale. Hope I never have to find out. They are rare here on the other hand Mayo Clinic and the town are what they are in large part because of a bunch of tornado's that hit here years ago.

About 10 years ago went to Cabelas (just on the other side of I-35) to look at a 20 ga. for my son. As I got almost to the store funnel clouds were popping up everywhere sirens were going off and I could see a huge tornado just to the North of the store coming at us. There were people in front of the store guiding everyone to the bargain cave which was solid cement. Dropped the kid off near the front of the store told him to run inside and parked the truck.

As I was running inside saw my son walking across the field toward the tornado which wasn't that far away. Shit. Ran toward him and part of me said let nature take him out of the gene pool. Wait that is my gene pool... I got to him and grabbed him turned him around and headed back to the store. Something about it though did draw you to it, huge dangerous yet beautiful in a strange way.

It just missed the store and tore down pretty much everything they had sitting outside. The Big Horn and Outfitter tents were the only things standing after it was over. I bought both.
Paul Bunyan is from these parts and pretty sure him and Blue would cry if they ever saw such a contraption. Yeah I usually wait until it is well below zero and split my gnarly oak then with a splitting wedge. But that machine would be awesome way to do it and pretty sure when they say work smarter not harder that is exactly what they mean!! Most people here just have those small horizontal hydraulic splitting machines.

I know it's driving you nuts, not to be working on a project, but it looks like they found a place for you, they finally got the message.
That is a effective but costly way to advertise.
Morning Miss Susan. What have you bought for the new grandkid?
