Just bought my 2015 for 31K with 11K miles in January. Had brand new duratracs, leveling kit, bed mat and one owner.

It really does depend on the market in your area, how many are available that are similar, how quickly they sell, etc. In my area of Virginia, really clean Tacomas sell quickly with a little room for negotiating, but not much.
The tires are a good negotiation point. If they ask retail price or close, it should have good tires with plenty of life left on them. This is Selling 101 but some dealers just don't get that.
    Good luck.

Cash too. It doesn't speak as loudly as it used to because of the kickbacks dealers get from finance companies, but a big pile of $100s is still an enticing sight...

New tires sounds great in the deal, but choose the tires you want. Don't let them give you stock tires that will wear out faster.

I know every state is different. But I paid for my brand new 2015 TRD Sport 30,500 out the door. Two years ago. I would shop around more. Patience is the key.

Got a 2015 with less than 14k on odometer. Fully loaded OTD 31,800. Warranty extended to 100k miles.

It's unreal how much a used 2015 truck is selling for. The original owner probably took it off the lot new for at most 1k over that price. I'd buy a new one.

Yeah when new ones are over 40. I'll pass. I don't lie the 3rd gens anyway. I'm happy! That's all that matters I guess

You'll be paying a lot more for a fully loaded 'new" Taco than what you think.

I paid 23k for my 2012 AC TRD Offroad Manual with 50k on the clock. It came with a ARE topper, new Goodyear duratracs, weathertech floor mats, and yakima racks. It was listed at 27k and I managed to talk them down to 23k. I live in SLC, Utah where tacomas are ridiculously inflated though.

Dealer didn't budge. So we walked. Dropped the price only $300, so they still want over $31k OTD. Wouldn't budge on new tires even though they barely make the spec for "pre-certified". I measured a hair over 4/32" with a quarter but I'm no tire expert.

The tires broke the deal for me, there's no way I'm paying that much then shelling out another $1,000+ for new tires a few miles down the road. Keeping in mind you're ALREADY PAYING like $1,500 for the certification. Thanks certification!

The guy I'm working with there (who is great) said they must have paid a lot for the trade in. Overall good experience (WAY better than other dealers) so I was bummed they didn't drop the price much.

On a new 2017 zero miles TRD Off-Road DCSB 4X4. No Premium Anything. That price is $37k OTD (keep in mind that's with no negotiation but they advertise 0% over invoice). They have 28 new Tacoma's on the lot! It was crazy. Literally a Tacoma pile.

Doesn't surprise me on the price or the tires, I had the same experience with multiple dealers over a few months of looking. If you want a lower price you're going to have to get an older model or be okay with more miles.

Yeah but it's a 3rd gen (joking) :p Sorry to hear things didn't work out. With patience it will come I am sure. Just gotta find the right sales team. I think you made the right choice walking away. I don't know the particulars of the truck but that's high mileage to what I paid for mine with 25k less on the odo.

The truck it self was pretty slick and super-clean, and has only been on the lot for a short time, so they made soften up given a week or two with no sale. Someone looking for a particular build might snap it up and pay the premium.

I hope you have better luck that I did. I had my eyes on a 2013 TRDOR that had been on the lot for 90 days and they still wouldn't go more than $400 below what they were advertising. It had the 15-25mph drive line vibration, dry rotted tires, and 2 accidents (fender benders) on the CarFax. They wouldn't even perform the drive line TSB unless I paid for it.

I wasn't willing to go that high when I bought mine. Paid 21 for a 2012 SR5 4x4 DCSB with 89k miles, manual with a ARE Topper. This was 4 months ago. Felt crazy to spend that much on a used truck, but these are expensive verticals...
