The BDS drop brackets are about 4.5"-5" lower than the stock cross member, 6" of lift gives 1" to 1.5" of additional clearance under the cross member before the increase in tire size. Add ~2" for the tires and you have 3" to 3.5" of clearance over stock.

I understand the drop bracket stigma, but for what this truck is going to be used for (camping, overlanding, MTB hauler, daily driver) it just really doesn't matter to me. I wanted to run 34's without cutting the crap out of the fenders, or doing a body lift. I'm not going rock crawling with it, and I get the benefit of long life of CV's, steering components, and ball joints.

Long travel, mid travel, drop brackets... everything has it's place. There is no WRONG way.

I will post as soon as I have details. It's made from .188 and .125 steel. Will be offered with or without tube work. We are still finalizing price, shipping, etc... Expect it to be in line with the market prices.

Looks cool but I don't get why people lift 2wd sports. If you wanted a big lifted truck made for mud and offroad capabilities, why not just get the 4x4 package.

Truck looks nice. But correct me if I'm wrong but if the bracket is 4.5"-5" lower then stock it doesn't matter if the truck gets 6" higher because it's still 4.5-5" lower

The frame lifts 6", the frame includes the lower control arm cross members. So the "stock" lower control arm mounts are now 6" higher. Add the drop bracket height underneath that and you get the math I came up with.

    No.....no you don't.
Its called drop bracket for a reason. You cut the crossmember and lower the entire front diff. How do you think you got perfectly level CV's?
    Here's a perfect example. 6" Fabtech Tundra vs. my 3" 1st gen.....both on 33's. Huge difference.

Dont get me wrong, you're truck is beautiful and if i could I would do it too! And you have the correct idea with keeping all you're angles in spec...but you're math on the drop bracket is a tad bit off.

I installed the lift myself, so I understand the concept. To my understanding, the argument was that a drop bracket lift looses ground clearance OVER stock and that is what I was negating. You gain maybe 1-1.5" of ground clearance under the drop brackets with a 6" lift on stock size tires.

I'll quote this again so I can see what to type when replying easier.
The frame doesnt lift 6", you're DROPPING the cross member, front diff, etc. The frame itself isn't being raised. Hence, drop bracket.
The frame does not include LOWER control arm mounts....the lower control arm mounts are a part of the new member assembly from BDS.

Have you even seen the picture I posted above?? My friends Tundra frame is definitely higher yes, but look at the front diff. Yes, like you said before the control arm angles would be better, but my front DIFF is waaaaaay higher than his.
