    You are a prime candidate for doing a video. Very few people are running stock suspension without a sway bar. I'm pretty sure we'll have solid evidence before the snow and ice melt here.

    I'm not going to take the test, HOWEVER, I can offer a balanced point of view when it comes to the "compromised handling". And that simply is that there is no such thing as a dangerous THING, only a dangerous PERSON. Every THING can be operated safely, as long as there is a careful PERSON who is completely aware of the THING's limitations.

    So if, for example, removing the swaybar reduces the minimum speed and/or steering angle at which the vehicle will roll over, then the safe and careful PERSON simply must SLOW DOWN in order to maintain the same degree of safety.

    Well... obviously. When you hit a bump with one wheel, it means that you have half of the spring load holding it back.
    Now speed bumps of course, those you hit with both sides, so no difference there.

    Yup, I guess it's just one of those things you don't realize how good it is until you try it. Way less jarring on these New England roads.

    Since taking off my sway bar speed bumps are almost unnoticeable.

    That doesn't sound accurate. If you're squared up with a speed bump the sway bar is performing no function and would not affect feel. Anything you're perceiving would be pure placebo effect.

    What do you mean by "more rigidity"? The control arms and suspension control the direction of movement. The sway bar simply acts as a linkage between the left and right side and only comes into play when there is a difference in the amount of movement between the left and right sides. In the example of a speed bump, both tires hit at the exact same time and absorb the exact same amount of force which will yield the exact same amount of travel. Thus, the sway bar will simply pivot about its axis with no resistance and won't change feel.

    I should also add, this ONLY functions like this if you hit the speedbump square. If you hit it at an angle both tires don't hit the obstacle at the same time and having NO sway would indeed be better. ;)

    subbed for videos. I'm considering removing the sway bar, prob not a big deal as I don't really DD, just long highway trips and wheeling occasionally. If I decide to do it, I'll try and do a before/after video.

    My only big concern is I'm worried about the lack of sway bar allowing too much suspension drop in a bad spot off road and allowing the CV axle to get damaged. I don't want to mess with getting limit straps.

    Sway bar doesn't limit down travel, it only ties the 2 wheels together to encourage them to act as 1 unit to a certain extent. The only thing it will negatively effect is body roll, if you consider more a bad thing.
