Im wanting to install a 6.2 inch touch screen radio in my 2012 tacoma and i was wondering if anyone had any info on the proper way to do it. i have the installation kit and the radio. i just wanted to see if any one on here had any advice before i go tearing into my dash. Also i have a back up camera that shows up in my rear view mirror is there anyway to reroute that to the radio or should i have a shop do that part?

i just did one in my 05 and it was super easy, on mine... i simply slid a flat scraper under the HVCA control panel and lifted, it snaped right out, then there are 4 (12 mm i believe) bolts behind it, remove them and the radio will pop right out like the HVAC control panel.

It's just fresh in my mind I did it the other day. Whenever I don't go with my gut it seems like I regret it lol.

Most head units use an RCA jack for video input. If your backup camera cable has the plug on the end, it's a simple matter to reroute it to the radio and plug it in.

So i got my new radio installed. But the Dash kit i got to install it, i dont like it and it doesnt seem to fit properly. And it only came with three clips instead of five to snap back into the dask. and the radio mounts were plastic. Does anyone have any suggestions on where i can purchase a better one?

the one i used had plastic side pieces to mount to as well, but it had five tabs and went in perfectly, it was the Scosche TA2053B install kit.
