I have a 2001 3.4 V6 TRD that had a stuttering issue at idle and under power a few months ago. I replaced the spark plugs and wires with new NGK stuff and replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the throttle body IAC and MAF. Also redid all the grounds on the engine block. The truck ran great for a few months and then it started stuttering again. So I bought a new Duralast MAF from auto zone and hooked it up. After install I cannot get the truck started. It will crank but not start. To see if it was just the new MAF i put the old one back in and it still won't start but still cranks. Any help would be great.

Check for a blown fuse and double check any electrical connections you undid when you swapped in the new MAF.

Check for spark. Could be a bad igniter.

Also - may sound dumb but I did it once. Installed the maf backwards. I have a 98 so might be different than an 01.

Duralast maf sensor could be a bad one. I'd take it back and try another one. See if it replicates the problem. It's hit and miss with non OEM on maf sensors.

The MAF cant be installed backwards

I reinstalled the OEM MAF and the engine still wouldn't start. Also the MAF I bought was a "new" unit, not a remanufactured one.

Yep, cleaned the throttle body, also disconnected the battery before doing anything.

Well I got it to start. The igniter wasn't plugged in all the way....:anonymous:

But that didn't solve my fuel stuttering issue...

How old is your fuel filter? Good idea to replace anyway but seems odd it still stutters after your tune up.

Damn Gremlins. With no CEL lights it's hard to determine. Might try and test fuel injectors and/or compression.
