Anybody change their front brake pads yet? Any recommendations? Stick with what's on there or is there something better?

 

It's the same battery since I've gotten the truck, so at least 3 years. I don't know when it was replaced before that. Thus why it's getting itself replaced no matter what.

Yeah that's what I mean. Put a load test on the battery but then again I don't know if she already did that.

Here's my thought on the knowledge of Autozone, Pep boys, etc.... personal:

 

Battery typically go bad around 3-4 yrs.

I had even gotten in on a sale from Jerry (BAMF) on CMC and missed paying for it in time to get in on the sale price. I forgot they had to be paid for by that Friday or something. Never ordered them, then my welder went down so not really a need for them if I can't put them on. lol

 

If it were a bad battery, would we be getting the same draw and sparks?

 

Yup, I went with Toyota pads again. I'm sure there may be something better but the factory one's last a long time for me.

 

I do all of the work myself...except for machine work ie; cyclinder head port and polishing

 

Did you hook it up backwards?

 

I go any bigger and the wheels aren't going to roll. I'm about 3/8" from the UCA.

My truck original battery went out without any warnings. Just one day it stopped working. The day prior it starting and drove fine, no check engine lights or headlights dimming, etc...

 

I've got 112k on mine and changed them once. I believe it was around 80k.

 

Mine was fine the day before too. Got up to go to work and it had just a slight drag on it. Figured I'd replaced when I got off the next day. Stopped at the store down the street from the station. Dead as hell. Wouldn't even click. We took someone to the hospital and I stopped on the way back and bought one.

 

I'm at 60k and have 5mm left. Stealership said I'd need them at 3mm. I don't want to have them do it and charge me some bs amount.

I tend to use my brakes more around here with all the idiot drivers.

 

The Green Stuff brand is legit (but the Yellow pads are better but has higher brake dusts), so is the Hawk brand, or if you prefer OEM or OEM quality that would be Centric Parts
