Had the same issue. Found that if I moved my tent a few inches rearwards, I could get the rod in without it touching the cab. For the times I can't move the tent rearward due to gear in the bed, I carry a small bungee, and hook it from the window to my roof rack. It holds it open quite nicely.

Get a small bungee and hook it to the roof rack to use it to pull the window open.

Usually stack rocks to level, but I do have some 2x8 that I cut up, just haven't used them yet.

I talked to Bobby yesterday and again cannot speak more highly of @Cascadia Tents and their customer service. There was a deal worked out to get me replacement parts for my tent within minutes and then talked about business and work for the rest of the time. Not too many will call you up and chat with you to ensure that you are pleased and taken care of.

I've asked in another thread but no responses yet. I have a short bed 3rd gen with a leer cap. I have Prinsu racks on cab and cap. I have a new RTT. I used to run the ARB but now have the CVT Mt. Rainer. The RTT sits over both cap and cab. I only have it mounted or secured to the cap. My concern is now will I tear something off if my truck frame flexes while off road?

I dunno man, the cab/frame flex is pretty serious. upwards of an inch of distortion when you're really off camber and flexing out the suspension. Its what stopped me from mounting anything to both ever.

Just upgraded to the luxury mattress myself not too long ago. Any suggestions on what to do with the one it came with?

Same story here. Took my @GEOADVENTUREGEAR annex out for the first time and when packing up, the zipper hadn't released completely and tore when I collapsed the tent.

    IMG_20170225_094626.jpg

So after using the annex I feel like it's great to have when set up. The extra space is terrific for storage and a place to change. As well as store dirty shoes. At the same time, it is the entire reason I got a RTT in the first place and is everything I don't like about a traditional tent: wet, dirty tents that have to be folded up and shoved in a bag. Only a traditional tent folds up way easier. So, really just something to keep in mind when considering to get the annex

I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on the Tepui Kukenam XL Ruggedized . How comfy is the mattress? Have any of you guys purchased the upgraded mattress? I'm looking at also getting the awning as well. What is the difference between this and the Autana XL ruggedized? Would you guys have any other suggestions before I go all out on this? I'm going to purchase this next month.

Mines lifted, next time I put it on I'll raise the tonneau to cab height and see if it'll get it up there.

I got the Kukenam myself. I personally liked the mattress it came with but my wife wanted an upgrade so we went with their luxury one. I must admit it is a lot more comfy. The price isn't so appealing so that'll have to be your decision.
