    Need help finding new leaf springs for my Tacoma, I've been looking around and shipping to Hawaii is ridiculous.
    (Ome springs are $200+ a piece shipping is another $120+)
    Any one know where to get a set of OMEor ALL PRO to/in Hawaii for less than $500

    4WheelParts on Oahu? They can get the parts, then it's only a matter of shipping inter-island and not from the mainland. Would this be any cheaper?

    4wheelparts still tacks on a not so small kine shipping charge (they did for my Arb bumper) so that might be true for ome dakars through them too. Besides that your best bet is finding some used.

    Yea I'll try check tomorrow or more like Monday, I looked at local shops on my island, not as expensive as ordering myself but still the freight charges are crazy.
    Thanks guys

    When I lived in Alaska, I had occasional good luck with Amazon, Tire Rack(for shocks not tires), and Walmart for shipping larger/heavier items.

    Amazon's vehicle search filter doesn't work well for Tacoma's so try by part number. Prices aren't always the best though.

    I just checked and it's $175 each spring just for shipping from here in Miami!!

    Ditto on the 4Wheel Parts option. I think it's like 15-20% shipping surcharge, which isn't that bad in my opinion.

    I got a notice that the leaf springs on my 2007 PreRunner are on recall -- may want to check if yours are too, may be able to get the dealership to cover some of it.

    More to this point;

    OP: crawl under your truck and LOOK at the leaf springs.
    First, count how many leaves they have each. It will either be 2+1 (two standard + one overload), or 3+1.

    If it has 2+1, then there should be a total of FOUR leaf retention clips on each spring. Two in front of the axle, and two behind. These clips will be riveted onto the second and overload leaf. The ones on the second leaf will WRAP AROUND the main leaf. The ones on the overload leaf will create vertical posts from the overload leaf up beside the second and main leaves.

    If it has a 3+1, then there should be a total of SIX clips in a similar arrangement. The ones on the third leaf will wrap around all 3 standard leaves.

    IF THERE ARE FEWER THAN THAT NUMBER OF CLIPS, then your springs are under RECALL and will be replaced (both of them) for FREE.

    Another way to possibly tell is to look at the manufacturing date of your truck. If it is on or before OCTOBER 2010, then the recall will apply to it. If it is AFTER OCTOBER 2010, then you have the updated (but just as prone to breaking) springs and will have to buy new ones on your own.

    TO BUY new springs.... Since you're looking at OME, you are looking at the CS047R.

    There are *at the moment of writing*, TWO listings (with 1 in stock each) on AMAZON.COM, both of which include ***FREE SHIPPING***.

    One spring here;
    https://www.amazon.com/ARB-CS047R-Dakar-Leaf-Spring/dp/B004P9ZP1Q

    And the second one here;
    https://www.amazon.com/Old-Man-Emu-CS047R-Spring/dp/B00HR0G9ME

    The reason for the two listings is that the first one is sold by and shipped from a company called "Trends-Auto", and the other is sold by and shipped from AMAZON. They are the same product.

    Anyhow, total price $418 and change.

    Thanks but the Amazon free shipping does not include Hawaii. Most times it does.

    Does the recall still apply if I already have an add a leaf? Probably not. I think I'm out of luck or I just need to wait on a deal.
    Thanks guys

    Go hit it up a Airforce Guy there are daily flights from the mainland to Hickman. And airman would happily throw a set on a C-17 for half the shipping price. The bids flying anyway.

    On Oahu here. I spent the way too much time recently trying to find dackers shipped here for a reasonable price and finally gave up. I'm just going to go with an add a leaf.

    And if you do qualify for the leaf spring recall through Toyota, be prepared to wait for 8+ months at servco for the parts to come in. And if you have any suspension mods, they will NOT honor the recall.

    The long lead-time for parts was true when the fix for the recall was first announced a year or so ago. But I called my local dealership yesterday and they had the parts on hand (Dallas area).

    The recall applies as long as your springs are the old ones with just 3 clips. Add-a-leaf has no relevance to it, though the dealer COULD refuse to reinstall it on the new pack.

    If you're really worried about them refusing warranty for having an add-a-leaf (FYI: legally, they CANNOT), then take it off before you take the truck in.

    This is a SAFETY recall, so it doesn't make ANY difference if you've modified it.

    3-clips = recall.
    4 or 6 clips = no-recall.
