    Tupperware? Really? Dude as soon as whats her name left I put all that shit in a plastic garbage bag and gave it to one of my sons. His wife has a Masters in Public Health Education and threw that crap in the dumpster where it belongs. I spent a couple of thousands on Tupperware when the Ex sold it years ago.

    Went to glass containers and seeing how my grandfather gave me his slide rule from being an Engineer with Corning Glass started out with CorningWare. Lids didn't hold up at all once frozen and cost as much as the bowls, like tupperware. Went to Anchor Hocking and much better much to my somewhat disappointment.

    Then broke down and got a decent food vacuum sealer. Never look back after that. Can use glass canning jars of any size and of course the bags, cut your own or pre-made. Your single. Smoke it, grill it, simmer it, doesn't matter you can cook ahead, mix it up and pull it out at a much later date and have it taste fresh.

    CB thaw.jpg

    Home made Canadian Bacon thawing out for morning breakfast. Sharpening the camp knifes even though it will be 6 months or so before I am camping in hunting camp. And thank goodness the oldest dog has pills that have dog prints on them so I don't mix them up with mine. But the old SOB is still kicking even if he does shit on my carpet from time to time. I will keep him around as long as I can.

    Dump the damn Tuperware...

    Only if you got battery and the rotary switch is not acting up at the substation, I can tell you from seeing one of those rooms live when I was about 7 scary as hell all the noise and such lol Found this :}

    I can tell you for a fact that when a relay gets stuck on a switchboard and you pull out a rubber comb from your back pocket and try to pop it back you will tell pretty damn quickly if it is really a rubber comb. Or something else. Of course if you are on a steel ship grounded to the sea which salt water is a great conductor, as is a sweaty comb, you know why they used to use those blue rubber mats as insulators. They work but it only takes a few milliamps with salt on you and in the ocean to make your ass checks pucker. Just saying.

    Rotary switches and tube amps glowing in the dark, like bread and butter.

    Much like token ring, and which one of you SOB's MAU (or host) swallowed the token? Almost easier than Banyan Vines but not by much. Kids ain't got a clue nowadays. And have no idea how fast Novell IPX\SPX for gaming really is. Or how slow appletalk is. Don't miss all those interface servers to the mainframe either. Still live in the world of telnet, and secure telnet, to Nix servers everyday though and either you know it or you don't. With linux a lot of kids seem to think they are Nix experts. There is a difference in flavors of Nix when you hit the world of production. And results or your ass is out the door.

    Micro$oft's success really comes down in large part to an early realization of the future of TCP\IP. Although Office is the money maker. If you used ClarisWorks on the Mac or Word Imperfect there is good reason. Google docs can't touch it either. Actually glad to see Larry Ellison and his damn Oracle ass kicked trying to compete with OpenOffice. Time to get some sleep. Have to fight with a stupid Oracle Database in the morning running on AIX. They don't call IBM big blue without good reason. I'd be blue too and they make me red. But I hate them all equally.

    Wow is there some memory kickers in this token ring on coxial cable arc net cards where the hell did the terminator go to !!! Banyan vines :frusty: most don't recall Novell Ipx/SPX came out with the first sharing of CD rom drives when they were friggin expensive. I know what ClarisWorks is but not enough to speak to it vs wp or msword but wordstar was pretty decent :} I do have fun explaining sometimes that only thing windows did was put a pretty picture on top of a long disk operating command . I often wonder if the person who did not copyright UNIX at AT&T or Bell Labs regretted it when it was made into Berkley Unix / Cal Tech Unix I am sure MIT was annoyed lol :}

    Not where you are but sometimes wish it was. If you would have interviewed with me not long ago I would have asked what are the advantages and disadvantages of using networking smb, netbeui, SMB, and cifs using tcp/ip ipx/spx, netbios protocols. And please explain each. I was told that was way too much historical information and could be used against us in an age discrimination lawsuit by the younger crowd. LOL would that be considered reverse discrimination? I just wanted to wanted to know how they thought on their feet when the shit hit the fan.

    Used to get paid about $500 to install a floppy drive at one time setting the registers on the motherboard to match up. Well the company did, I got about 20 an hour. But it was a pay check. And damn thankful for it even on top of my Navy retirement. No regrets. On either front :)
