If you look at it that way, CDA is just a suburb of Spokane, part of the Spokane metro...

And yeah, we did have this discussion a while back.

Aaannnddd. Seattle metro is 3.8 million and is more than just King County. And it's only the 15th largest.

 

Bosie isn't huge yes. But it is a big city by most of my standards..

 

The real question is does Boise have an IKEA. If it has an IKEA it's a big city, if not it's just a city. This litmus test works pretty much all over the US.

 

I've never been in an IKEA, but they seem to be in all the major metroplexes I frequent; Denver, Salt Lake, Phoenix, my guess is if a metro area has over a MIL in population, they will put in a store and they are huge. It's an easy indicator of a city vs a major metro. Hence Boise is just a normal sized city @Blackdawg .

 

@Blackdawg, your screwed, the LA basin has not one but 4 IKEA stores.

 

Well after a quick google, LA basin about 18million people

Denver metro about 2.8 million

Phoenix metro about 4.5 million.

Tells me IKEA wants in the neighborhood of 2.5-4.5 million people to support a single store. If there is an IKEA within 40 miles of you, you live in a big ass city.

Altho, these plans do indicate the Denver area is gonna get a 2nd store in 2018. With the Denver metro population at ~2.3mil, Ikea seems to be breaking a little from their pattern.

FWIW, both Seattle (3.8mil) and Portland (2.2mil) only have one location each.

Do you have a plan once you get to LA? 200 a day isn't a bad gig and probably the better option unless you have a solid game plan for LA. What about staying in Sheridan for the summer?

the down side to Tippet is Peter Halstead doesn't like me much i guess(founder of the place) thinks me and i quote "gruff". and its in the middle of nowhere so i have literally almost nothing i like to do once work is over. Hate that as i makes the summer seem a waste sometimes.

200 isn't bad..but the hours usually are 10-12s.

Can't stay in Sheridan. Was just the Interim guy and the last gig here is June 2nd. No way they will continue to pay me to do nothing be nice though..

I also say just get it out of your system. Start looking for work there now and take the leap.

The shitty part is, i won't have enough money to move and make down payments on a place and survive for the month or three it'll take to get a gig, so my parents will have to step in and help.

What about looking for a temp job in between here and LA? Gets you closer and some more experience?
