IIRC the Home Depot parking lot where it happened was in a not so nice area.

Tried to search and find the info from when it happened, but can't make the search terms match anything.

He wasn't super active on here but was a member. Think he was young also, 19-21 maybe. Seemed to be a random shooting, into his truck while in a lane at the parking lot.

I vividly remember my taxi ride from the airport to the Plaka District in 1988. Indelibly imprinted in my mind. In fact, I am still gripping the actual interior door handle from the taxi.

But god damn, I love Greece. Family visit? What areas are you visiting? I think I saw you on the plane with the boy. Too busy for much TW time right now.

Yes we're visiting family. Staying in Katehaki, Athens cuz we can't get to our family home 2 hrs north of here due to the road washed out.

Trying to get the family visiting over this first week so I can trade this big ass van in for something smaller.

 

Speaking of that, you think you have Toyota engine problems, you got nuthin' on this guy.

I'm gonna try real hard to un-see/forget that cartoon.

 

I don't fuck with big rigs. give them the right of way.
driving big trucks is cool, scary, crazy, and can be fun, but I only practiced for my test never actual went and got my class A. I left Cal trans before taking the test.

 

I like being behind rigs in heavy traffic. They always try to move at a constant speed because they hate shifting, and they have a superior view ahead. A holdover from 35 years of driving a stick I guess.

Rig drivers aren't even bad compared to Muni drivers. Those guys think they own the road. Honking their horn at an intersection full of pedestrians. Honking their horn at a car waiting to turn due to an intersection full of pedestrians. Pulling out of the bus stop without even looking. Running red lights. They do it all. Because they're well protected and they can.

Ill see if its still on my dash cam but in Boron coming home Sunday from Vegas, the long straight away was backed up. and we had to get over to get gas. I was on E and my light kicked on so i was running out of patience. Nobody would let us cross the street to the Chevron. My buddy behind me whipped around me and just parked across the oncoming traffic lane so i could get across and then he followed me. Had some jackass get super bent and flip us off and scream at us. We got out at the Chevron pumps closest to the road where he was. Now me and my buddy are similar heights and builds, we just look at him throw our arms like what WTF man relax. Then he is still screaming at us and flipping us off while stopped in traffic. So my friend waves at him to come on over and say something. He rolled his window up and never looked at us again.

TLDR people are tough guys in their vehicles

 

Don't know if you guys remember but I lost an old childhood friend I grew up with in Oakland to road rage last month. You never know man shit just isnt worth it. I was never one to take shit from assholes but now that I have have kids I've learned to just say fuck it and let it go.
