Nice!! God forbid something like that happens here in RI. Going to have to talk to someone about transferring some weapons my father's giving me. Have to make sure I do it all nice and legal like I suppose.

That was just done here last month. You can now pass from VT to ME with no hassles.

I would quicker expect MA to take the CT route and keep raising the price on a permit until only the rich people can afford it. Their governor proposed raising it to $300 recently

 

Not that the wife is fond of the gun thing, but that will likely make that even harder to convince her to do/get.

 

Ouch $300 for a permit. That sucks.
$10 for mine and now you don't even need one.

They're good for 5 years, right? Get it now before the price hike, and move out of state before your renewal is due.

Same here..though I've heard conflicting reports about my criminal record being an automatic DQ. Haven't really researched it yet.

Commandant Malloy is proposing the following per Bill 787 - New application would go from current $140 to $370 and a 5 year renewal would go from current $70 to $300. He claims it would be the same as NY but is mistaken. In NY the range by county is $100 - $130 with initial application with free renewal, RI is $40, MA is $100 for 6 years. NH, VT, ME don't require a permit = Free. I could go on but I don't want to end up having the thread locked or being banned. Lets just say that I need a gun to help protect myself and my family - CT also had a horrendous home invasion a few years before the God awful day at Sandy Hook. I believe a good guy with a gun could either have stopped of helped reduce the amount of carnage in both of those...
