One of the issues with mailing patches is how USPS processes bulk mail. The giant sorting machines use rubber wheels to shoot the letters and sort them for certain areas. Your standard letter envelope fits in there perfectly up to a certain mil thickness (multiple pages getting mailed), but anything with a texture that isn't a flat piece of paper inside could cause binding or get caught up in the sorter's wheels/machinery and tear the envelope and/or damage the contents. Most small POs, still sort by hand and toss letters in bins that will go to the machine sorter or are to be worked by hand. If the person doing the sorting misses that there is something in the envelope that could get caught in the sorter (such as a patch), then it'll go through. Think of is as a faulty copy machine feeder. Sometimes, things go through without a problem, other times there's a paperjam and it fucks it all up. Not saying there wasn't something fishy with patches getting stolen, but it is also highly likely that there are shredded patches on the floor of some USPS sorting facility somewhere.
Two ways around this is for the sender to write in big letters "not machine sortable" on the outside of the envelope (which USPS will stamp if they catch it) or use a heavier card-stock envelope. These are either extremely time consuming or more expensive for such a large batch.

The things you learn from watching too much TV...

My single patch came in with the USPS stamp on the envelope so I got lucky that someone was doing their job that day. Hope you get yours soon man. Either way, OP will make it right which I'm sure is the reason for the extra patches he's holding before listing them for sale.

That stamp came from me. I actually purchased a non-machinable stamp off ebay for that exact reason. None of these should be running through a machine.

I'm not really sure why some of you haven't received them yet. As of Saturday they were all out of my hands.

I'm not keeping a list of name. I'm just going to put them up for sale. There's also an all black patch that I'll have extra on, and we'll be starting another one in couple weeks.

    mine just showed up today.

you can see though where the envelope was put through the machines and the digital zip code/bar code markings were applied.
