Unfortunately a 2 Person job, unless you have a lift system or a hoist for it.

Definitely a two-person job for me. Removing it is easy, because gravity, but install is rough

It could be done, but it would be extremely difficult and you'd probably end up hurting yourself...

I have one of these set up in my garage and it works awesome! I use the cross bars included with the hoist and just slip them under the RTT and lift off my whole rack in one shot. My whole set up weighs around 200lbs so I use the ratchet straps to take the weight when I'm storing it.

I had a bitch of a time finding studs with 2 layers of drywall in the ceiling so I cut back the drywall and lag bolted 2x6 boards perpendicular across the studs in the ceiling and just mounted the hoist to that. The spacing was such that I had to shorten the distance between the hoist arms by a few inches but it still works perfectly.

I throw mine up there myself :benchpress: you guys just need to get to the gym more haha :)

I just would get it to the back of the truck lift it onto tailgate standing up and then flop it over the rack and slide it on.

    Well..........

Mine weights almost 200lbs and is 6.5 ft long. The weight is not what's killing it, it's the size!

i put mine on/off by myself. it's a pain, but not the end of the world. a hoist would be quicker, just not much room in the garage to do one with the shop lights :pout:

ideally I want to make a hitch hoist

I took mine on and off by hand a few times. I would just set an edge on the rack and then push it up but it was scratching everything up and I'd rather avoid that. Also that was on my Tundra and the rack was an even 6' off the ground.

$125 for that hoist was a no brainer instead of breaking something

The Autana XL is the same size as the Kukenam XL but the Autana model will have the extended vestibule that covers the ladder area and will include the annex.
