    @Toyko Joe

    This might make the reason for the blocking more clear for you

    This wall has a shear wall section in it . The shearwall provides the lateral restraint for this entire wall and also adds restraint for the roof plane above .

    If there is a seismic event , the shearwall will keep the wall from racking left to right with respect to the direction the picture was taken .

    The shearwall acheives this by providing a rigid section that is securely anchored . Either end of this shearwall section has a triple stud pack that has a hold down at the bottom , secured with 1/4" x 2 1/2" structural screws into the stud pack and bolted to 5/8" redi rod that is embedded 30" into the concrete foundation . The bottom plate also is fixed down with 5/8" x 8" anchor bolts @ 16" OC .

    Additionally , the 1/2" plywood sheeting has all panel edges supported ( by plates , studs or the blocking ) and the plywood is nailed to a nailing schedule determined by the structural engineer , in this case this wall has 2 1/2" x .131 nails @ 4" OC on all edges and 6" OC in the field .

    Other shearwall panels in the house have different nailing patterns depending on the specific loading that wall is designed to resist

    This is the same wall in the pic you quoted / highlighted just looking at it from the inside

    Hold downs ( screws installed , redi rod nuts get tightened later )

    Took a bit longer than I thought to frame our overhangs yesterday but this morning we got the sub barges installed and sheeted the roof , we pulled a tarp over that back section and made a dry area for ourselves and our tools

    We got a start on the tall main back wall and hope to have it completed tomorrow

    Are you gonna pour a pad after the walls are up?...or is it a crawl space and raised floor? I had the impression it was a poured floor.

    BTW...I like trees as much as the next guy, but the trees around that building are way too close.

    You can back or pull the truck closer without walls in your way.

    Didn't think you were

    It's too sketchy this time of year here to pour a finished slab outside , either freezing or raining

    With the roof on we can pour whenever we want
