Welcome to the crew. I drive an 03 that I lived out of for awhile. I would say a bed box for sleeping is key. I through an old futon on mine. Good storage below and a decent amount of room as long as you don't wake bolt up right. Added some ruff curtains to cut the light and help hold the heat in during the winter. I have spent some cold nights there during the winter. As for the sound system I am way above stock. Gutted and replaced all the speakers to go from five and a half inch to six and a half and I find I don't really need woofers.

Hey Tim thanks for the post I am interested to here more about your build and what kind of stuff you brought into the back.
    Did you add insulation?
Any heater? I just learned bubble wrap over the windows helps a lot. Haven't tried it but looks super easy.

Also what was your electric system? (Spare battery? Solar?)

Ha. Love the financial acumen of outlawtacoma and his buy-out offer. Made me laugh.
The Taco looks great. The camper suits it well. But most of all,
Welcome Adam. Give us a call if you'd like and just wanna talk shop.

I didn't take any pics when I did the install, but I can take pics later today. It was about as easy as it gets. Took me about an hour after I got all the parts together.

1.00 is much cheaper than 35,000 for a new one. I would keep the truck mostly stock except for camping accessories. White never goes out of style either and access cab looks the best on the tacoma. You did good! Enjoy youre truck. Also, nice little family you have.

I didn't do any insulation or heat. Just a few sleeping bags. Two zero degree mummies that go one inside the other and a third for really cold nights to through over like a blanket. It is rigged pretty much just as a place to sleep so I run any electrical in the cab. I have a little converter that goes into one of the power outlets to charge my laptop. Just a head lamp for light, never really needed any more than that. I have spent a few 0 degree night in the back and been nice and comfy. It's crawling out in the morning that's the ruff part.
