i just recently installed a set of extended travel King 2.5's with 650# springs. They're on a DCLB with Pelfreybilt aluminum front and high clearance rear with a bedrack and RTT. My question is how much will these coilovers settle? I don't want to go adjusting them down if they're going to settle some. I had DSM adjust them to 3" but it seems like I'm a little higher. I don't mind adjusting them, just don't want to do it twice if they will settle some.

^These springs settle very little. I replaced a spring on my Icon coilver (also 650#) and the new spring didn't raise the corner up any higher than before. And King springs are higher quality than Icon springs (which as far as I know Icon doesn't make in-house).

Looks perfect to me man, its not setting off any red flags with my ocd lol I would say your good to go!
    Nice rig btw

Edit: I think what you are seeing is just an illusion created by the high clearance bumper/shorter fender in the rear compared to the longer tail end of the front fender flare. if you focus on the cab itself and the line across the cab doors, shes as level as can be my friend

Can always do a shackle flip in the rear to gain ~1". The stock shackle bracket looks really out of place with the high-clearance bumper.

Do you have skid plates yet? They will weigh the front down some.

Thanks man! I have very bad OCD lol. Good tip on focusing on the cab. I was looking and fenders and what you said makes a lot of sense!

I agree, I'd like to do the archive shackle flip one day. I have already thought about skids weighing it down (nothing other than a beat up factory one now) or possibly adding a winch. Both items I could use.

That buggy is sick. Good to know I read where some other brands were settling anywhere from .5" to 1" but not much out there on Kings settling... I guess it's because they don't lol

yeah man I bought my truck used and ocd is in full effect haha just little things the PO did haha swirls in the paint, looks like he did not know how to use a buffer. Depo head light on one side, oem on the other = different DTRL lense, black chrome bezel is slightly different and parking lights are different brightness's. getting the truck professionally buffed this summer because that one really bothers me haha the headlight I'm going to have to live with cuz money lol the more I work on the truck the more I find, just little things mostly thankfully! day by day I'm getting things the way I want them.

Heard that man, I bought mine new but as soon as I paid it off I started building it. That's when my OCD kicked it. I did all the work myself, but I'm always going back and checking stuff and looking under it to see if anything is broken. Maybe I just don't trust myself haha

oh I hear yah hahaha I cant wait until mines paid off! still have a little ways to go tho hahaha but I'm always a little paranoid, it looks like the PO did a good job keeping up with maintenance and what not but I truly don't know, so in the back of my mind I'm always a little worried a wheel bearing going to give out or a ball joint or some kind of bushing hahaha so I'm always on the look out! I want to make sure all that kind of stuff is up to snuff before I throw money into a lift kit. I would hate the put a lift on then not have the money to replace a wheel bearing or something haha I'm going to check everything out this summer while I'm under the truck replacing my diff and t case oil/doing other little mods

I feel you with what your talking about. I adjusted mine and should be around the same as you and at certain angles it feels too tall in the front but other times it looks perfect. The 650 coils have not change at all from what I can tell.

What rear shocks and springs did you go with? Your rear looks higher than mine. I was looking to do a shackle flip and possible the extra leaf on the dakars as I will be adding slides, skids and bumpers. Need to find a shackle that works well with Dakars. I heard the archive does not fit them unless that has changed.

Yeah that's exactly how I feel, before this setup I had 5100's and 885's and it wasn't high enough. So now I feel like I got a ton of lift.

I just have dakars and 5100's in the rear. I'd like to do a shackle flip and shock relocation whenever I get new shocks. I couldn't justify spending money on the rear when those shocks only have 5k miles on them.

I may switch to relocated shocks down the line. Did not cross my mind at the time. I went Kings front/Rear with DAKAR. I did not do the 29xl leaf but have since ordered it. Another 1-1.5 in the rear would be perfect. Shackle flip sounds like it woudl do the trick. the 29xl will help when i add All the stuff and may or may not help with another .5 inch or so.

Yeah I just have the standard dakars no AAL. I didn't plan on getting a bed rack and tent so before that the rear sat really high. It has since settled some for sure. I may do a deaver leaf pack when these dakars are done.
