My 2007 Tacoma is only getting 20-21 mpg, mostly highway driving. It is an Access Cab W 2.7L eng. and 4 speed automatic tranny. No other performance issues. Any suggestions or similar experience?

Looks like you have a 4door is it a V6, if so I would expect around 16-18 mpg.

It is a v6 dclb. I'm fine with 16mpg. A friend of mine has a '16 4 cylinder manual. He claims to get 14mpg. All he does is drive it back and forth to work.

How fast are you driving on the highway and what's the typical engine rpm you see at those speeds? Is it above 3000? The drawback with the 4 speed (vs 5 speed or 6 speed) is 4th gear is usually not tall enough, so the revs are high in the highway.
