This ^^. I'm not what I'd call a big dude and I always got mine on my Tacoma by myself.

Awesome setup! I wish my garage was big enough for me to do something like this.

Thank you! I'm about 2 hrs south of Santa Cruz. I'm going to swing by in about a month. So, I'm trying to put my wishlist together. I'm thinking I might upgrade the mattress. I'm not the lightest person, and my wife like comfort. It's probably better to just bite the bullet.

What are you guys doing as far as security measures? Is there special mounting hardware or something? Just curious if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks

I have been stressing out over this all day lol...

I was about to make a payment for the Tepui Autana Sky ..

BUT I just saw the 23 zero Litchberg which looks almost identical but a couple hundred dollars cheaper...

anyone have any experience with 23 zero tents??

I would rather spend the extra money to know that I have a reputable brand with reputable customer service vs. saving a few dollars to get a tent that I'm not too sure about.

I spent top dollar to get CVT, because I knew if I was in a bind with the tent and/or needed parts @Cascadia Tents would have my back. I'm sure @Box Rocket would do the same if you wen with Tepui. Just my $0.02.......

There's videos with instructions of installing yourself. Depends how high it's sitting of course.

Couldn't be happier with mine. Have not had a single issue with it and probably spent over ten nights in it so far.

Camping out in Sedona this weekend, There was a lot of coyote activity in the area. Barking, fighting, howling, etc. I heard some ground tent campers screaming in the middle of the night to wake up. I just laid in my tent in the sky and laughed. They are probably all dead now. That's what they get for camping so close to me after arriving at 11pm.

After having the smitty tent for a little while now, I'd gladly pay more for it but glad I got it on sale.

**Not a RTT owner, but wanted to ask those who do own one. If I had a RTT, it seems that once I get to wherever I wanted to, I would have to have the truck/setup stay put for the duration of the stay???

I'm a big fan of them, love the concept, and hopefully soon I can own one of my own. However, when I go camping/off roading. It's not only about getting to the destination, it's also about exploring the area. Seems like it would be annoying to set up the tent, sleeping bags, bags etc..and then pack them away to do some further exploring. And then have to come back to camp, and re-set up again. Or maybe that's not how you camp with a RTT?

Once you've done it a couple of times it's a ~10 minute process to pack it together and then we just head out to explore...

Just don't unpack it until you're done for the day. It takes a couple minutes to setup so even if it's dark it's no big deal. Also you can leave your sleeping bags and pillows in the tent so you pretty much just unfold it and you're ready to sleep.

I leave everything inside the tent, pack it up and hit the road or trail or what have you. Takes longer to pick up tables, chairs, and all the other gear we take camping.

This is my solution for getting the tent on and off the truck! Inexpensive electric winch from harbor freight, chain, wood, and lots of lag bolts! My dad spent his weekend helping me install it.

Do you just trailer your bike when you have the tent mounted?
