My wife lost her longtime job making $35k a couple years ago (long story) She worked a few different jobs last year here and there trying to decide what she wanted to do. She grossed about $7,700 for 2016. Somehow, someway, first time ever, I had to send a check to the IRS for $88 because Obummercare :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

Did you use H and R block online?

About 7 years ago I tried H and R block online. They said I owed $80 something in taxes. I knew that could not be right so I decided to buy turbo tax for $50. I ended up getting a few hundred dollars back thru turbo tax.

No, went to local tax place, I normally do them myself but due to the obamacare bs I took them in. Had to pay $120 to find out I owed $88 :pout:

I disagree with having someone else do your taxes.

Unless you own several rental homes or own your own business you should be able to do them yourself.

Turbo tax is super easy. It walks you thru every step and does a good job on getting you the best deductions.

For the most part I agree, but there have been years where I have pulled my hair out trying to understand IRS-speak when filling out some forms. Things like IRA rollovers/conversions, stock incentives, education deductions and/or payouts from 529s, etc.

This is true. I think work has picked up for some people and so they're not here very often. Or they're off work now so they're out doing stuff instead of wasting time here.

Nope. Hasn't rained here, luckily the driveway has a camera. I just felt stupid coming outside to a half open door.
