Hi, I just bought my truck a few days ago and now my dash lights (speedometer and tachometer) don't light up during the day. They work when I turn my headlight on. I tried turning the knob in the dash to increase brightness and still no lights. I'm I wrong and they are not supposed to light up when headlights are off?
    thanks

Run your daytime leds, they look badass and you get dash lights...win win.

I have the auto headlamps and on "AUTO" the LED DRL's are on but the instruments are not lit until the lights kick on..

maybe one of the wiring gurus here can come up with a fix. i would like dash and lights in the door panel like window controls to be on all the time. when you drive into a parking garage and fumble around for the buttons the light would be nice.

My truck dash lights and also the head unit dim ONLY when the lights are turned on either driving lights or headlights. When just Daytime running lights (LEDS) are on nothing else in on or dimmed.

It's actually your tail lights. The day light only light up the LEDs, the tail lights light up LEDs, Tail lights and Dash, then your headlights light up all but fog.

Switch one more knob up to the "tail lights" option. This will light up your dash.

I have 3 positions... 1) DRLs only... 2) running lights including the fogs and 3) all lights on. Dash lights come on with the 2nd setting (running lights) and dash lights up and head unit dimms... stays that way for #3 as well.

to clearify I meant "running lights" or 2nd position. It turns on the white LEDs at the bottom of the headlights and you get dash lights. sorry for the confusion.

I don't get dash lights until the running lights are on... 2nd and 3rd positions only... and when the dash lights come on the head unit dimms.... dimming of head unit and dash lights on both happen together.... on my truck. They are not mutually exclusive.

With your running/headlights on, you can change the day time on your display to prevent the dimming by going to your display options. This option only shows up though with the lights on.
