    Have you ever smoked a turkey before?? That's the best way to cook turkey, IMO. When finished, the juice will just run out of the breast meat when sliced...if cooked to the right internal temp. GOOD STUFF!! If'n you need any tips, I'll share.:boink:

    Well, I'll tell you my way, developed from doing many.

    Brine overnight in a 5 gallon bucket.
    Brine: 2 gal water, 2 cups sugar, 2 cups canning/pickling salt, 2-3 cans of dark soda(coke, pepsi, dr.pepper...don't matter) After placing in brine, place ice packs on top to keep cool. Tip: may overflow so put bucket in sink when sinking turkey.

    Pull from brine, dry with paper towels, rub with vegetable oil liberally, cover completely with Cavender's Greek Seasoning.

    Smoke @225-250 (any hotter will dry out breast meat) till 165 degrees internal. Pull, rest 30min, slice and enjoy!

    It turns out really good this way.

    Yes, canning/pickling salt is on the normal salt isle. It comes in a box, like ice cream salt. It is best for brine because it melts in cold water.
    You very welcome for the recipe. I'm quite sure that you will like it. Almost everybody that has ever eaten mine says it's the best turkey they have ever had.
