If I didn't know any better, I'd think that Smitty wasn't totally satisfied with his Tacoma purchase

 

Absolutely. But I think I found a thread once where he didn't mention it, so I think he's on the upswing.

 

And he comments in every thread about it.

Seriously I think people are just overly sensitive, use the internet to bash the taco for some reason. It seems to me it's a perfectly good truck

 

The transmission issues are just really throwing a lot of people. It does shift a lot, but my 2013 had a bunch of shifting issues as well. I actually had it replaced under warranty and the problems stayed, which tells me it was in the shift logic itself. I had test driven an automatic 2016 before I purchased mine and it was very shift happy, so I get it.

The motor isn't as good, no, but it's a truck, not a sports car. That's what I can't understand is people who want to put louder exhaust and cold air intakes on these trucks. IMO they don't sound great with louder exhaust (one of the reasons I stayed away from the TRD trucks) and they have enough power for day to day work.

 

I know the engine doesn't make TQ down low, but that's an emissions thing not really Toyotas fault. Seems people think it's 1920 and they are afraid to wring out the engine a few thousand more rpm to get into the powerband

The power delivery is weird and not linear unless you go WOT at the exact right point in the power band. It's also got a relatively low 6,000 RPM redline. It's quicker than it feels, but hardly a race car.

It's a truck though, one shouldn't expect sports car acceleration.

 

Wrong all vehicles should handle and drive like a Mercedes

 

There is, and it's relatively easy:
1. Trade in Tacoma
2. Buy F150 with standard options

 

So according to my friend, I look more cramped in an F150 than in my Tacoma. Not sure how that works though

 

Were you riding in the cab of the F150 and in the bed of the Tacoma?

 

That at least would make sense. My friend is tiny so what does he know?

 

How tall is he?

 

I think around 5'4". He drives an F150 Lariat

 

For anybody whom might be interested. I have seen other vehicles there but for the most part......it's jeeps
