Yea i am sure there is the Jeep jamboree or something going on. They won't be in the Maze though. VERY isolated and permit camping only. plus the offroading is only a small treasure there. The canyonering and hiking is the big attraction there.

I haven't bought the permits yet or even 100% committed myself. But be cool to have another rig!

 

Yeah, regardless keep me in the loop. Chances are we will be in my friends 2001 XJ that's built up decent enough for some light wheeling (lift w/ 33's and no armor). We need to break it in anyways (bought it last month).

I don't have any spare jeep parts..and im not kidding...The Maze is the middle of NO WHERE haha there is nothing out there. If that thing breaks..we are leaving it for at least a day and a half. Minimum haha

Get down there sunday. Then get to Elker Butter on Monday. Easy to to Millard after that to allow time for exploring on foot. Then long day to High Supur of driving. Next day go to Horse Shoe Canyon area hike to the Grand Canvas, back to High Spur for the night. Then out to Arches from there probably to do Seven Mile Rim, Tower Arch, Eye of the Whale and maybe Cache Valley. But idk if there is time for all that..

 

yea..sorry man. Devin and I were just sitting on the couch...and like a light bulb went off after we realized i had a full week off haha

Not well planned on my part anyways. Just threw that itinerary together last night in like 30 mins. haha

Shame though. Be fun to meet up.

 

Can't, i have a meeting on friday and need to get a list complied of gear for my boss. Have a gig to prep for all day for that plays tonight. And i have to fix my rear brakes before going anywhere.

 

It would be up to him and if he was comfortable. The dude is 6 foot something and would be stupid cramped in BabyT with a bench seat for that long of a drive. That said, he is really set on canyonlands and I am pretty stoked to go there as well. Try to get a more concrete plan together and I will see if I can swing it. I barely have enough to survive a year of eating ramen on my savings so money is tight without confirmation of a job.

 

Yea man. Could be fun. I mean, can do something else too if ya want. I literally just thought of this on a whim..

though having driving a jeep on the highway id hate to ride shotgun in that thing for 10 hours haha

Noticed I have a torn boot on the CV. Can you replace just the boot or is it better to change the whole thing.

Id do just the boot. OEM axles are stronger and aftermarket ones bind faster. thus causing them to break more..

Or get a reman, swap axles, fix the oem one, then use it as a spare. Don't get rid of it though.

 

Doin my tie rods. What size wrench is the inner tie rod? Hard to get a measurement on it

27mm I think, but not certain. It may be a 28. And to give you an idea about axles, your busted old OEM one has more value than a brand new one from napa/oriely/autozone.

My personal choice was to get reman'd OEM ones from CVJ and keep the originals for trail spares.

 

As mike said, big around 27-28mm. Think is used a 1'' 3/16s maybe too..or a big ass cresant and pipe wrench works too.
