So my Led strips I stuck under the door worked great as rock lights for awhile. But after several trips, washes, etc they have died on me. Thinking about putting a couple Amazon pods under the truck. Anyone do this? Where the best place to mount? Pics? Advice? Thanks!

I think it'd be cool! Just get some cheap ones and reseal them before mounting them. To mount them, you'll have to get creative. If you don't have bolt on sliders, there are plenty of holes you could use.

Id worry about ripping them off.

    1. @Iggy sells some nice rock lights.
    2. You can also use KC Hilite Cyclones, theyre flat aand can be bolted down. They come in different color too.

    Word.

Rock lights are small and flat. Pods are usually 3" squares.. that's a lot of sacrifice in ground clearance/tire articulation no matter where they're mounted underneath.

you can buy the lights by themselves, for like $30 each. and run your own harness and switch

I'd think that pods that are mounted in the frame rails would be just fine as far as being tucked up enough. There are plenty of lower things to get ripped off.

The KC kit is badass, expensive tho... Cant find iggys yet. Was hoping not to spend a whole lot on this, which is why I originally thought of the cheap pods but like you guys mentioned, I dont know how/where to SAFELY mount them up and out of the way

Ya I think that would be my best bet because I already have the wiring done still and those ones are alot larger than Iggys it seems...

Do either of you have rock lights yourselves?

    I don't, because I previously had a Prerunner.

But Iggy lives 20 minutes from me, and is a good friend. Can vouch for him, his character, and my Tacoma had all @Iggy lights on it, as do a lot of our local members trucks.
