lifting my tacoma tonight noticed a oil leak standing behind oil pan facing towards front of the truck looks like it's starting from above half way up somewhere . 20k miles exaxtally . Not to happy now as the dealer where I go has great service but don't give loaner vechiles as I bought 3 cars 3 years there . Guess I'll just have to tell them it's smoking off the exhaust and it's hazardous

Hopefully they find the source and fix it, plus they really should provide a loaner.

Tiny leak, I would get it looked at then book it in for repairs when it's convenient.

Looks like you modded your truck. They are gonna deny warranty, JK.

The 2GR's are known for timing cover leaks from time to time. It's never critical but sometimes they have to be resealed or the cover replaced.

There's a lot of Siennas and Highlanders from 2016 that have a similar leak.

That would be timing cover. Had the same issue, takes about 3 days to repair as the engine needs to be removed from the truck.

Is that directly below the oil filter or oil fill cap? Sometimes techs spill a little filling or draining, and don't do a very good job cleaning up.

Good thing this didn't happen on your truck or the White Knights would be claiming you poured it there yourself :D

Just checked my 2016 Trd Pro 4Runner....its seeping oil. same spot, timing cover.
Its not as bad as OP but its there.

Im gonna let it go a while before I say anything, might as well wait until I see a drip on the driveway or closer to my warranty expiration date/miles. No reason to sound the alarms yet.

I've been through this. 3 days to fix. I've been checking it and no signs of leaking again so far. I'm not too happy with my owner experience.

I'm done with the turd gen. I'm dumping this thing soon. I'm buying my wife a new vehicle and I'll get her 2013 T4R, which is rock solid.

The drivetrain in the Tacoma is probably the worst I've ever driven.

They should've left it alone and changed the body and interior. It would've been a hit.

I wonder how many 36K mile tacomas are going to start popping up every where. No one is gonna want one after the warranty is out.
