let me start off by saying:

    A) the only plastic painting xp i have is on my SC10 race/practice bodies
    B) i was buzzed drinking 805 beers in the middle of the afternoon while doing this on a thursday (beer)
    C) between coats (beer) i walked away to grab my beer, when i came back to watch it dry there were butthole nats flying around it. by the time i shooed them away they had done their damage. My OCD (beer) did not outweigh my laziness/"just want it done" attitude (beer) so there are some small, not visible unless i pointed them out, imperfections. cool? k. (....beer)

    that being said (beer)

heres the photos of the primer, paint and clear coat i used.(beer) these interior pieces (if you dont know already) just pop out with the vents and extended dash pieces. then some tabs and screws and the trim is off. (beer). i used the 3M scotch brite to scuff them up. warm soapy water to clean. then primer/filler. after 3 coats of primer filler i "wet sanded" with the previous pad of scotch brite. verrrry lightly sanded down the roughness of the primer. once it was smooth i rewashed them. let them air dry. then took a microfiber rag to it just to brush off any water spots. (beer). compressed air to blow off any excess FOD. then maaaaybe 5-6 coats of red. i did 3 then the nats got to it so i did a few more. 3 coats of clear. (beer) reinstall. whole process took about 3 hours. its warm and sunny here in AZ so at noon the paint was drying real fast (or maybe it was the beers).

Hi all first time Tacoma owner, love my new truck. Traded in my Camry and I just hit my 200 mile mark. Do people here make custom decals? Would like to replace the trd sport with one I created to support my University.

If you mean the tie downs yes I had to move them to evenly space the clamps. As for the rachet itself on the cover nothing was in it's way if anything I'd have liked for the bed rail to have extended further to the rear so I could get the clamp closer to the rachet.
