1st trip to Browns camp in my Tacoma

Went out for a drive in my Tacoma about a week and a half ago just for fun, and basically on a whim ended up at Browns camp offroad park in the Tillamook state Forrest.

I knew in advance that there would still be plenty of snow there, and being as my truck is bone stock and basically a daily I wasn't planning on doing anything hardcore, just exploring around in the snow.

I ended up doing two trails (university firepower and almost all of cedar tree) that were a mix of snow and mud. Truck did great even on its Toyo AT's (aired down to about 15 psi) I did pick up some minor trail damage though.
I was starting down a steep down hill and slid on a patch of ice, setting my drivers side rocker panel down on a tree root, gave it two nice dents, but didn't mess the paint up at all, it sucked, but once I get sliders it will be covered up, besides, it's a truck so oh well. I'll post what few pics I took, and see if I can post a short vid.

Oh also, as I was leaving I came across an old timer in a Nissan Titan that was stuck in a snowbank, I pulled him out and as a thank you he gave me a fully loaded Pmag I told him it wasn't necessary at all but I appreciated it

 

That sounds like a great trip! I recently did a similar one up here in WA. and my rock sliders saved my bacon several times! I ended up airing down to 10psi and it was amazing what a difference it makes.

 

I'm sure it would have been better to air down even more, but the closest air is 9 miles down the highway so I try to keep a little more in them. Where in WA is a good offroad park?

 

Ill have to head up to browns camp in my truck one of these days. I go up to ride my bike all the time, but never to explore in the truck. Nice photos looks fun!
