I've come for HELP!

OK first hello to everyone, I am a previous taco owner. I loved the one I had in fact it is still in the family (my brother bought it from me) I drive too much to have kept that one, I lifted it, etc. But anyhow here is the deal, I am torn between a Ridgeline and a Tacoma double cab. Here is the situation, my wife and I have our first on the way and right now I am driving a 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab averaging about 18.5-19 mpg every tank, occasionally on all highway I can get as high as 21. I need something that has more room (the car seat won't fit good in the Frontier, it touches the front seat), gets the same or better mpg, but something I can still hunt and fish out of. I have researched the RL for two months but am just having a tough time finding one in my range for everything. What do you think?

First of all, welcome to TW.... im glad we can try to make you stay away from the ridgeline! i think some of the users here have kids and have been able to fit with no problems the child seats on the back, its very spacious....

 

very very spacious. i had a three some in the back of mine, the baby will fit easily

i think that's mainly because its build on the accord chassis, correct me if I'm wrong.... so you are buying a car with a bed instead of a trunk...

 

WOW, I am impressed and how fast you guys are first off and thanks for the welcome! Second what are some of you with the double cab short bed 4wd getting for mpg because that is a BIG factor as I drive AT LEAST 60 miles a day! From what I have researched the RL's are not uncommon to get as high as 24 on all highway trips and they average 19-20 in 70/30 driving.

 

Buy the new Taco. Its super comfortable (I LOVE my TRD Seats), it gets great gas mileage, it looks better than everything on the market, and its great Off Road. Aside from the Tundra, there is no other truck I would rather have.

Then you through the $$ factor, I have to keep my payments around what they are now especially with a baby on the way. I would be getting an 05 or an 06 more then likely.

 

Well if you can hold you head up high while sitting in this:

then more power to ye, otherwise Tacoma of course!!

The milage is good considering the size and weight of the Tacoma and in the looks department, well that kind of speaks for itself.

Yea I wouldn't get one that plain the one I would get would be the Amazon green WITH the rack and running boards to make it look a little better LMAO!

 

Also, if you find yourself off road, you will hate the Ridgleine.

get the tacoma.............you have plenty of room,power and performance, and looks are a definite plus, plus you ca do so many different things to the tacoma to make it "yours". tacoma all the way.........you'll be glad you went with it!!
