That was my initial logic for buying my Tacoma in the first place, bought it to cage my Silverado. Then I bought a 240sx because I started building the Tacoma (side lining the Silverado) and realized that was a dangerous path to take so sold it and went with an IS300 and it too was dangerous right away because the 2JZ. Now I find myself in a ZL1 Camero... go figure, at least I managed to avoid the whole building process but not the money pit. :anonymous:

And that's how the circle goes round, haha. I used to own a 240sx till I blew it up twice. Think the only car I've owned that I didnt mod much was my 350z (it got a v2 bumper and zspeed flat belly). Then came the truck and just purchased an integra to build an autox/roadcourse car.

No kidding! I took up an offer this weekend to go up to New Mexico and have some fun in Gila Forest with the 350Z guys, now I want to go to a roadcourse event in two weeks. Already been looking for grippier tires and brake pads for the Camaro when I should be focused on installing bypasses and geared diffs on the Tacoma.

image.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg Few inches short of full droop. All this talk about drive line adapters, I just had mine done. Retubed, 1350 yoke and put a seal on the slip yoke instead of a boot for $250 bucks. Done

I haven't done a roadcourse in car (motorcycle I have though), only autox. I just bought new rpf1s and some s-drives for street sticky.

I should probably regear as well but the 3.73s and 315s haven't bothered me yet, ha

@Blackdawg I hit up Zuk with a few questions about the 8.4. He says that a 5.29 is just as strong as the 4.88 and not to be worried at all. He then said it real comes down to who installs them. I dig he has good cryo guy lined up for decent price. I'm really considering shipping him a 3rd to get done. He told me about s new elocker that is from Australia for the 8.4 Yota
    https://yotalockers.com/collections/differential-kits/products/harrop-elocker-a9334

He said it's awesome and I quote "best traction aid out there for the 8.4. They only run $1300-1400... Yeah so there's that

I am not gonna drop $2k in a Yota 3rd lol! Considering the Kazuma LSD. If a stronger version of the Yota stock LSD and only around $300. Reason behind my thinking is longevity and durability :notsure:

That new Harrop is bad ass. Im thinking of getting them in my other truck. Pricey no doubt. But some pretty sweet features and instant on off. I like them. Just yea...pricey.

Zuk is a great dude, and yes, 100% depends on who sets the gears. Toyota diffs are very touchy...

Not a fan of LSDs personally..at this point, you may as well go all out or decided to swap to a 9''..you're going all out on other stuff. Don't cut a corner on the diff! Get what you want the first time id say.

oh and you better be going with 5.29s now  trust me. well worth it.

I know all to well that it's all about who sets up the gears. Had my elocker redone by Yotamasters less than a year after it was regeared by a local shop and whined bad right away.

I went all out... of money lol. I got a tundra axle and relentless truss for it. Gonna do the 5.29s (I guess :) ) with some sort of traction aid. I figure should be decent espicially having them cyro'ed and set up by someone like him or even yotamasters. I also have an extra 3rd from the taco axle. As rad as a 9" would be that's down the road after some more powa!!!! To do the 9" like I want it would be pretty expensive!
