I've got another "convenient side effect" story for ya...

My Uncle Craig had a 1987 Isuzu Trooper II he bought used in 1989. When my cousin (his daughter) went to college in 1998, he let her take it and bought himself a brand new Dodge Ram. When cousin graduated, she gave the Trooper back and bought a used Jetta. Uncle kept Trooper as a spare vehicle until 2004 or 2005 when the 4-wheel drive quit working, and he sold it to some Mexican guy to use as a work truck...

Anyway, aunt and uncle's Border Collie mix, Kelsey, chewed through the rear seatbelts when she was a puppy. I was between the ages of 7 and 9 when we lived out in California and saw them every other weekend. It is said that the backseat is the safest place for kids, and when my parents and other family members started buying vehicles with airbags, I HAD to ride in the back since I was so small...

This was in 1996-1998... Aunt and Uncle's other vehicle was a 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan which had dual airbags...

Parents' 1996 Nissan Pathfinder also had dual airbags...

The Trooper predated even driver's-only airbags in entry-level vehicles by more than 5 years, and I successfully convinced my mom that the front seat in the Trooper was the safest place for me since the seatbelt was intact...

So, tiny little Charlie got to ride shotgun in the Trooper for rides to the beach... Three adults in their 40s crammed into the back!

This Chevy Express belongs to an awesome guy I know named Raf... This is a shitty iPhone 4S photo, but about a year ago Raf let me take a crapload of pictures (with my Nikon SLR) of his van for use in my Chevrolet/GMC "Like a Rock" Truck/SUV/Van tribute videos on YouTube.

Anyway, if anybody's in Doylestown, stop by Bocelli's. It's a fine Italian BYOB restaurant!

That Trooper had no power steering, no power brakes, no air-conditioning, and a 2.3L 2bbl 4-banger that could barely get out of it's own way... But it was built like a tank!

My uncle also took out the factory stereo and installed a Blaupunkt system with 4 great speakers and a tape deck!

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
It's the 4.7. I can't answer that because I have no experience with the 5.7.

I have to update that as it is now over 265k.

I took this photo yesterday (March 9th)

    This is a 2009 or 2010 SR5 4x4 4.0L/auto, and it belongs to my friend's neighbor...

Aside from an aftermarket Alpine head unit, it seems to be completely stock...

Saw this on a 2003ish base model Tundra regular cab 2WD yesterday...

As much as I HATE basically having to pay a mechanic to tell me my Taco is in perfect working order, I still do it...

This Tundra has some dents and peeling paint, and one hubcap is missing, but it's more or less in decent shape...

Who the hell lets their inspection expire by almost a year? Especially when it's a Toyota truck, and there's like nothing wrong with it? I've heard of people not getting their vehicles inspected because there is some stupid thing like a cracked windshield or a check engine light but the vehicle is more or less safe and they just can't afford to fix the issue at the moment.

    This is just ridiculous though...

Ended up parking next to a 4Runner TRD Pro in the Staples parking lot yesterday evening while running an errand for my boss...

See if you can spot the first gen Taco hiding in this photo too!

    ThursdayMarch9th2017 072.jpg

By the way, that blue 2000 Blazer hiding between my truck and the 4Runner one row back belongs to a guy I know who works at Staples. It is a 2-door 2WD model with LS trim and the venerable 4.3L Vortec V6. FULLY LOADED 2WD 2-door Blazers with the LS trim are not that hard to come by, even in fair to decent condition. This Blazer literally has all options (A/C, cruise, tilt, power windows, power locks, etc). What makes it rare is that it's not only fully loaded, but has the 5-speed manual transmission and G80 locking rear. On top of that, the owner recently broke his wrist in a tree limb-related accident and has a cast on his left arm that goes from his fingertips to just above his elbow! Not only is he working, but he drove his stick shift Blazer work! With his arm in a cast!

Awww, damn it, I stand to be corrected. I now proclaim that my 07 Sport does indeed have a tilt steering wheel... Thanks! ;)

    No problem at all!

    HINT: It telescopes too! ;)

I'm gonna just post a picture of the lever location for anyone who either doesn't know how to operate their tilt/telescoping steering column or thinks they don't have one at all...

Yah, I came from a 95 1st gen and the little silver lever is very obvious in it... missed this one entirely.
