This parallels my assessment. I like some features such as BakFlip's flip-up capability, but didn't care for the loss of lateral clearance the mounts force. Most of the time I'm fine with the OEM cover folder up, and it's easy to remove on the occasions I need the full bed. That I got it at invoice and its warranted with the truck was a bonus.

I can certainly see the appeal of other styles for others uses and situations. That's why it's great to have options.

But he did respond to the socially awkward part of the post, he called it petulant and inaccurate. As heeps pointed out, that's a response.

    No non-tool alternative yet?

Read through 3 pages of self conscience dick measuring hoping to see someone discovered a quick release bolt, but instead I only found disappointment and 1 guy pissed that people love the OEM tonneau cover, which I do as well.

Nice!! Up here I don't really have to worry about anyone stealing my cover, so the ability to remove it when needed without tools exceeds the risk of loss. Plus they'd really need the tailgate open anyways.

Btw.. I'm thinking about buying a tri-fold bed cover for my 2011 off EBay but some people are saying that it won't fit because of the track/railing system just under the top of the bed. I'm calling BS on this but has anyone had any problems getting the clamps attached under the rail to hold the tri-fold cover on? Thx

This was kind of said before, but just to clarify, the bolt doesn't actually lock the tonneau as far as keeping things secure inside right? The tailgate needs to be opened in order to open any part of the tonneau right? So a bolt like the one suggested earlier and in the picture below would work and would not be a problem as far as securing things under the tonneau cover.

That bolt with that giant crank head can work, but there is a waterproof cover that covers the factory bolt head. Get the correctly sized unit.

Yep, that particular one doesn't look like it fits, but I was thinking something along the lines of not needing to keep a socket to open it. A 12 mm socket is not secure either.

Check one of my prior posts in this thread. I backed mine underneath with an extra M8 nut to act as "jamb nut". Should give you an extra amount of security.

Countersunk torx. I don't have a torx bit handy at the moment to pull it off and measure thread size. Looking at the size of most of the fasteners for the cover, I would think 12mm hex head style with an M8 sized thread. I think you can get away without it being countersunk if you had go cheap, but you can't use those bolt head covers on the striker.

Here's that jamb nut I mentioned earlier..
