    Hello All,

I just completed the "remove the second air filter mod" and i can definately tell a difference in throttle response. I just popped a "main't req'd" light. I took the battery cable off for 5 minutes both after i did the mod and after the light came on. Funny thing is, i drove the truck for 150 miles before the light came on. My Cold Air Intake will be here tomorrow, so as of right now i am waiting untill i get that put on and then going to the toyota dealership to clear the light. What do you guys recommend? I dont want to clear it now then put the intake on and it pop again. Recomendations? Stories of it happening to you? Thanks guys

    A CHECK ENGINE light or a MAIN'T REQ'D LIGHT??

MAIN'T REQ'D on solid indicates you are due for an oil change. Has it been blinking for the past...500 miles or so??

If it's a check engine light- You need to get the code read somewhere (PepBoy, AutoZone, a friends garage, wherever) and let us know what it is.

Yeah hold down the odometer button and then turn the ignition on. You will see some lines and it will count down. Then just release the button when its done. Super easy!!!;)

Come to think of it, yea it has been blinking 4 times each time i start the truck. Any advice? I know in my old Silverado after an oil change you just turn the key on and press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times and it would clear it, anything like that for this? Thanks

The blinking happens between 4500 and 5000 since last oil change as a reminder to set it up....@ 500 it goes solid on to tell you to change the oil already.
Once you clear it....Good to go for another 4500.

Took mine off within days of buying the truck. I don't remember it being a HUGE difference- but each butt dyno is calibrated different.

And the amount you blow is significantly less forceful than the engine sucks.

    Unless....naw....you wouldn't tell. =)

Hey thanks guys, I just went outside and cleared it. I really appreciate all the help on this. So ive heard stories of CAI's popping CEL's, should i just unplug the negative battery cable to prevent this? Thanks again for the help on the maintanace required light.

i suggest making a new thread instead of asking new questions in i different titled thread. and no, unplugging the neg. battery cable doesnt prevent anything. it just resets your ecu.
