I assure it is faster then from my 5 o'clock iwb position with my seat belt on. I really have it for more functionality then anything. The maxpedition used is adjustable so you can make it as tight as you would like. Extra mag is a bonus!

I'm not sure many TW members can give first-hand advice on using their gun to "blow someone away", regardless of the location from which it is drawn; however, I can say that a number of us practice regularly to make sure we are as prepared as possible should that moment ever come.

Logically think through reaching into your waistband, unfastening the clasp (if present), getting the gun up and into position without catching on your seat, seat cover, seat belt, clothing, etc. Not to mention if you have to readjust your body to get to the gun, likely drawing attention to yourself, which may be an issue depending on what is going on.

Now, logically think through releasing the latch on the center console (which for me, is about two inches from where my right hand normally rests) reaching in, sliding your gun out and drawing. Minimal obstacles and within easy reach, while still being concealed.

Completely agree. In drills, I shaved off a full two seconds by having it in the center console compared to my IWB location. The extra storage for ammo and mags is a bonus.

Theoretically, if somebody came up and attempted to rob you, asking you for your wallet and cash, you may be able to trick them and tell them it is in the center console, reach in and hopefully end the situation. That all depends on your comfort level and whether you can remain level-headed in a situation like that, which is something nobody can truly know until it happens.

And I have mine in the driver side door pocket, holstered. With a towel that covers the grip so no one sees it when the door is open

    Nice.

Only issue with the door pocket is I'm pretty sure that would be an issue for Florida law. It would need to be encased and not readily accessible (holster doesn't count). Otherwise, I'd have it on the steering column in a Blackhawk holster or something similar.

Ok, I just did this in my truck. Definitely not a fast draw, but better than having it buried under a bunch of other stuff. Cost about $15 and install was less than 10 minutes.

Maxpedition universal holster cost about $10 on Amazon.
Industrial strength Velcro from HomeDepot cost about $5.
I played around with the angle and found the least awkward draw. Then I just cut the Velcro to size and stuck it all together. We'll see how well it holds, but I like how it turned out.

Thanks. I have a console vault. Love it but it does cut down space a little. I'll have to see which gun will fit the best that way.
