    I am the KING of destroying Ujoints!! If new tires are bigger, more stress. Forward to reverse in driveway may give a clunk indicating a loose cup... but not till some needle bearings are worn down. FOR ME the vibes always started at highway speeds... in a 5 MPH window. Drive it like that for awhile... 1K ish miles... you should start feeling it when accelerating. A bit after that, the clunks will begin, and then you WILL replace! New shafts are rarely required. Balancing them is also an option. Last time mine was going (Last year here in AZ), I took it to a shop and they did make me a new shaft as it wouldn't balance. HOWEVER, I was replacing my u joints 2X's a year!!!!!! Skinny pedal 4 wheeling it rough on the shaft... so she says.

    Since the rebuild, I have had ZERO issues. That's over 15K miles too!!!!

    Well... funny you speak of the clunk from forward to reverse and vise versa. She has that as well. She's had that for a bit, few months maybe. But now there's the vibe. Are you thinking new u joint and double cardan?

    I have a buddy with a 4 runner just put new wheels and tires and is having the same issue. had them re balanced several times still happens i told them to just drive fast curious to see what it may be though maybe i will pass the info along i believe its a 15 or 16 t4r

    I'm not familiar with the layout of the T4R driveline... But I'm going to guess one u joint, one of the high points. For me on the PreRunner, it was ALWAYS the forward ujoint on the rear shaft, then if I waited a month, the rear ujoint would go as well. Never had an issue with the front shaft uJoint, but did replace the heavily worn CB 2xs.

    And that clunk.... 95% of the time there are needle bearings missing.

    Put a u joint in it and balance it. The double cardan rarely fails, and if its bad they will know at the balance shop.
