I read a bit(read like 10 minutes worth), and the u joints don't look hard? Figuring do that myself and then obviously shop balance it.

 

They're just a pain... Not hard. But not a job to enjoy..at least that's how I feel about them. Lol

Since they commonly wear out and chances are you'll be doing it again some day, I like the price of the AutoZone duralast heavy duty ones. Cheap and life time warranty.... Im not sure if Spicer makes a joint for us. When I was looking around I dont recall seeing one. So I would probably just go to AutoZone. Make sure to grease them up good and keep the zerk facing the driveshaft so you can still get a grease gun in there.

All it has now is trd exhaust. Only planed on pulley and intake....

 

FWIW, I had AZ driveshaft quote me a rebuild on my shaft(front and rear u joints, and balance the shaft) and it was $180.00 bucks. Comes with 2 year warranty. That's just bringing them the shaft and dropping it off.


We just had them make shafts for my dads jeep and they came out great.

AZ Driveshaft is the best. They did mine on the 2008 and its worked perfectly

I had them add my slip yolk and replace u joints and carrier bearing, balance and paint my ds and I have no complaints.

They do almost all the work for all local desert racing teams too, so they know their shit.

 

U joints aren't hard. A little time consuming, especially the first time. You have to make sure it all goes together same exact way. Scratch or mark lines... or go to AZ Driveshaft where they'll do it and rebalance it if needed.

AND YES, AZ Driveshaft did mine last year. As I said, still no issues. First year I've not had to replace anything in probably 7 or so years, and it sees so much more off road here than it did in VA.

dang, but more room isn't the end of the world. What's the size of the one you have in the tacoma?
