35s on 7.5 inch wheels?

Width of the tire is what matters for that dimension, not the diameter.

Each brand has a web site that shows a minimum, optimum and maximum wheel width for a given tire size.

Different brands may have slightly different specs, as not all tires are created equal. The numbers are just 'close enough'.

 

If it's a narrow 35" tire maybe. Check the manufacturers website and check the "rim width range". If you're looking at a 35x12.5 or 315/75-16 or 315/70-17 chances are you'll need wider wheels.

 

Seen plenty of 35x12.5r15 on 7.5" and even 7" wheels. Most tire specs online will say 8"-10" is recommended though. The more sidewall the easier, obviously. Not sure I would try 35x12.50 tires on 17x7.5 but on a 15x7.5 it totally works. Make sense?

 

Thanks for the input, and yes the side wall thing makes sense for sure. I am running a 16 inch wheel now and was flirting with the idea of 35s. Couldnt find any 35 diameter tire where the manufacturer recommend anything under 8inch wheel width.

You should look into 255/85r16, that is a great tire size for your truck, in my opinion of course, and would work with your wheels.

 

could also do 34x10.5x16

 

That prob what I'll go with in the end. I wheel a lot though, so I am always thinking...bigger!?!?!

If Bonzen can run 35x12.5 on stock wheels I don't see a problem with 7.5" wheels

 

You'll be fine running a 315/75r16 on a 7.5" wide wheel. I've been doing it for years and airing down to 8-12 psi depending on conditions and have never lost a bead or had a tire issue. I think narrower wheels actually hold a bead better aired down.
