Soft campershells

anyone have one? Recommendations?

 

Just got my soft topper on 2 days ago. Love it so far went through the local wiki wiki car wash and it held up great and no leaking into the bed. Havent had it long but love the look and no problems so far

 

Had soft topper on mine before. It's nice. Great to be able to fold down and take off easily. Don't age well once they get dusty though

 

I think you only have 2 choices, maybe 3.

I have the Soft Topper brand on my Tundra. I'll never go back to a hard bed cap.

No more blowing a grape removing the hard cap. Win!

Just put my bestop on, I'll take pics tomorrow. I'm only keeping it on for my "overland" (road trip) as my "habitat" (place I sleep lol)

$700ish for Tundra. Maybe a little less for a Tacoma.

I see no reason to spend $2000+ for a rigid cap that will only be worth $200 at best in 5 years.

Don't even try to sell me on the security of a rigid cap. That dog won't hunt. You should not be storing ANYTHING of value under any cap.

 

Ran a softopper all last year, I LOVED it. Looks amazing in person, compared to the "bestop" which look very out of place imo.

 

Soft topper. I read a bunch about them vs bestop. For what i need soft topper seems better.

 

I got a softopper. Super easy install. Holds up good. Had it for almost 2 years now. You can roll up/remove the sides and run a canopy style back. Fun for camping in as well.

 

I always referred to running in "safari mode" when rolling up the sides and back.

I'm amazed at the number of strangers that ask me about the Soft Topper.

If you are into camping or fishing, you will get approached.

 

I'm going to use that safari saying from now on lol. Yeah I get asked all the time about mine. Anybody know a good product to clean with window material? Mines getting scuffed up.

 

I spray the shit out of mine with plain windshield washer fluid. I put it in a cheap spray bottle. You could do the same thing with a recycled Windex bottle. I use a lot of the cleaner so most of the dirt is rinsed down with no interaction from me.

After that I spray again and scrub with a very soft bristled brush ( think shoe shine brush if you know what that is).

Next I wipe down with a soft towel or a Sham wow towel.

Lastly, I apply a coat of straight carnuba car wax and buff with a clean cotton towel. This part isn't required, but it helps shed water and dirt making future cleanings easier.

 

303 Protectant is highly recommend for clear plastic windows. Works killer on my wife's TJ Wrangler.

 

Yes, 303 is great for the fabric. No so much for the plastic windows. Ask me how I know. The smears were hard to get out.

 

Does anyone know how close the tan softtop is to matching the sandstorm color?
