Halogen vs hid





Trees are at maybe 150ft.

Lights weren't mounted to anything, just wanted to see how they looked.

Quick cell pictures so i think it lightened up the hid one overall due to the extra light it was putting out and screwing with the phone.

 

Damn man, how much was the whole set up?

 

Just bulbs? or some more "fancy" shit? What I'm getting at is, can I get that on Craigslist?

 

It is just a hella 500ff light with the halogen bulb it came with, and then one with a 55w hid kit. Pretty obviously, off-road use only.

I've got $130 into them.

Debating on taking a short drive right now to get some better pictures before i swap the other light over to hid.

And that's a driving light pattern. I can't imagine a pencil/spot beam. I'd probably set the mountain on fire.

@mizzac I'm not sure if you heard of this website, but it might help. It's probably the most detailed website I've ever found on data haha. Can search areas based on crime rates, income, house value, etc. You can break down each area and it might help you in your search. http://www.city-data.com/

 

I went out and got some better pictures. They are in my build thread!

Just got two for now. The thing about the HID is they dont like to be flicked on and off (30 seconds is the minimum time you want to have them on for before turning them off since it takes time for them to warm up). So, there is a possibility of some LED ones to join the HID's in the grill. I'd like to lose the light bar since it does throw a lot of light, but if I could replace that coverage with grill mounted ones, it'd be ideal.
