Just ran to home depot and picked up the suggested hardware, the bags are 1.18 a piece

    - 6 green bags (6 bolts/side)
    - 8 bags of fender washers (2 washers/bolt x 6 bolts x 2 sides)
    - 4 bags of locking nuts (1 lock nut/bolt)

    Total 18 bags @ 1.18 a piece = 21.24$

That brings the total cost of this mod to 64.84$ I personally bought some extra oem style clips (factory ones are 10 years old) and some "christmas tree clips" as also suggested by O.P. This put my total over 70$ for some rubber fender liners. Personally if I would have known this I probably wouldn't have bought them, when I first said I was in the price was 35$ shipped and at that time all that was suggested was some 3$ clips.

Understanding O.P. has to make money and even if the rubber was free he wouldn't be getting rich so not knocking him at all. If you need new fender liners not sure if there is a cheaper option.

Personally, I picked up the exact count you did so that if I have to change something down the road I can on the fly. While I only used 3 bolts on the driver side and 4 on the passenger side, granted your working in tight spaces and each truck has its own variances. What I suggested was MAX# hardware, taking into consideration that each truck is slightly different. First batch was a test run, to figure cost, material and time, all while the interest I got grew quicker than I anticipated so a lot of information wasn't accessible from the get go and had to be added on the fly. Apologies for any misunderstandings @excorcist but I believe it will be worth your time and money

The stronger hardware is definitely optional but the OP was honest and open about his design and its rigidity. Heck you could run zip ties as well. I am glad he is developing solutions as the product progresses. If your truck is an investment and something you plan on keeping for awhile, $70 seems appropriate for extra protection and coverage of suspension and engine components. Just my $.02.

No apologies necessary, I completely understand there were un-knowns at the time. It will be nice not to have to worry about ripping the splash guards in the future thats for sure.

I was able to save most of my OEM clips when I first tried to install the splash guards. Both the existing clips I had and the clips provided in the box did not clip too well into the existing mounting holes where the stock splash guards mounted. So not wanting to risk losing the splash guards I kept them off and waited till I got off work this morning so I could go to HD and get some better hardware.

Not once did I think I was duped into getting these splash guards under the pretense that the existing clips would be more than enough to secure the guards inside the wheel well. I ended up getting twenty 1/4"x 1/2" bolts, washers, and nuts for about $7 and somehow managed to use about 9 of them on each side to better secure the guards in place. There are a few holes on both sides where I am using the OEM clips to secure the bottom of the guards, but I will probably end up finding some other clips to better secure them in the future. For now, they are in place, the inside of the wheel wells looks clean as fuck, they are much beefier than the stock guards, and they cover more of the engine bay as well. Right now I'm about $42 in wit these splash guards and I couldn't be happier.

    Thanks alot, OP!!
