Hey Adam, the Tepui website shows the mounting bracket set as out of stock.

    Any idea on an ETA?

    Thanks!

Has anyone put a 1.5" memmory foam matress topper on top of everything and had any issues? I am concerned that with that i may not be able to leave the bedding and topper in the tent when closing the tent.

I have a tepui Autana, so YMMV. I have two rei 3.5" (squeeze down to 1")self inflatable mattresses under the tepui foam topper, three down sleeping bags, two reg. sized down pillows, and two compressable camp pillows in the tent when it's all closed up. And I can probably fit a few more things in there..

Trick is to load bedding evenly and distributed on the side opposite the main entrance w/ the latter. If that makes sense...

Nice work! Just bought that hoist myself.

Do you happen to have the hardware (bolts, cables, eye hooks, carabiners) information still available?

Do you know if the hardware kit includes the screws for fastening the rail to the tent base?

OK, my bed rack is coming in next week. I need to order a tent!
I made the mistake of looking into Eezi-awn. I'm going to be camping in very warm conditions most of the time. The Eezi-awn opens up big time on both ends. Looks like you could definitely catch the breeze with it. I know its some extra coin, but I got a good bonus this year, so the cost is less of a concern. Looking at the 1600 model, so it would be 63" wide. Better fit than a 72" on a short bed and the 55" are to small for me, wife and the furry kids. Any body on here own an Eezi-awn? Thoughts/opinions?

It was probably close to 6 trips back and forth between multiple hardware stores but I think my hardware list included:
    • 24 - 3/8" 3" lag bolts (and nuts)
    • 4 - 3/8" 3" eye bolts (and nuts)
    • Washers for everything
    • Bolts for winch (can't remember what size, I took the bolts included to the hardware store and got longer ones.
    • Heavy duty rope
    • 4 equal cut ropes of chain
    • 3 - 2x8x8's (Attached to ceiling)
    • 2 - 2x4x8's (Attached to the bottom of tent)

Oh, I also have 4 more of the eye bolts for a total of 8. 4 in the ceiling and 4 attached to the 2x4's underneath the tent.

8 carabiners for each side of the chain.
And one large carabiner that goes from the rope to the hook on the winch.

Decided to get the Smittybilt Overlander after a great deal from 4WP. I'm impressed with the quality for the price and even had the chance to test it out in the rain already. There are a few noticeable differences in quality after looking at it next to brands like Tepui and CVT but it works great for my budget and use!

Do you just have 2 crossbars for your roof rack? How does it handle the weight?

Yes. I used some L track and rivnuts to attach the tracks to the roof and then made two crossbars out of 1 1/4"x1 1/4"x.120" steel. The rack is very stout but the roof flexes a little with two people up top moving around. The weight is distributed enough that it would never dent and I think adding a third crossbar would fix this. I want to eventually move the tent over my ARE Z series with three or four crossbars. I would just make a flat rack for the cab for gear storage.

Looks good! I'm probably gonna run a rtt on my two Yakima bars and then pick up a third at some point. Glad to hear the roof can take it (for the most part)

Does anyone know how much the discount is going to be in the CVT group buy this year? I've been waiting to order until then, but just saw these guys on Craigslist: www.popeoverlandexpedition.com. Anyone heard of them? They're local to me, so being able to pick up and avoid shipping is pretty attractive. THat's the part that sucks about buying from CVT.

Then again, I've seen the customer service and quality that CVT puts out. Thoughts?
