@Kolunatic I'm about to get busy.

 

Backpacking food, affordable, lasts for years, only takes hot water to make, packs small and isn't bad tasting. Easy to have a few days stored away...be prepared

 

Time to go gather tools and such for the morning of digging and planting. On call at the hospital at noon.

I've got enough Mountain House food on hand to last at least a month ... or the next 3 hunting seasons or so.

 

All the talk about shopping for foul weather cracks me up. When the winter visitors are here and we get a storm, they flock to the store and buy carts of food...our "storms" only last a day, maybe 2 and it's wind and rain. It's not like we have snow drifts, maybe sand but definitely nothing you can't wait-out with a jar of peanut butter and a tube of crackers.

I hate those.
I always use Dearborn brass. Deep. It has a big thick nut not a skimpy cheapo one.

 

This is the only one they had with the nut on the drain instead of the big one on the strainer. Will it be OK?

 

Gotta go down and see if I can recoup some of the money from some of the extras from the old truck that didn't cross over.
Since this truck isn't as pretty, we didn't get as much stuff for it.

 

Preheat oven to 120deg. In a shallow baking pan, squeeze/pour ketchup coving the entire pan till the ketchup is approximately 1/8" thick. Place ketchup pan in oven and bake until ketchup reaches the consistency of a fruit roll up. Bake 10 more minutes. Gently remove baked ketchup from pan in one complete sheet. Cut ketchup into 4"x4" squares...wipe your ass with it.
