Dual Battery Setups! Let's see them! Multiple Batteries Thread!

With the ATO/4xInnovations bracket...I'm assuming group 34 is more than enough to be used as the main/starter battery? What are you loosing out on by going smaller for the starter battery (group 34)?

 

My current battery is 24F (OEM) and it is listed as 880 cranking amps and 70 Amp hours. The yellow top group 34 is rated at 55 Amp hours and 750 cranking amps.

However, if you get two batteries, you could in theory (there is line resistance and other factors that won't make it perfect, but close enough for our discussion) get 110 amp hours and 1500 cranking amps.

 

Looking for someone to build me a dual battery tray so I can run 2 deep cycle batteries with my truck off like a boat. 2017 trd off-road Tacoma. You hear about a reasonably priced solution for my wishes let me know.

 

Is 750 cranking amps enough?

 

I see from another thread you have already made contact with @HeliMedic and I highly recommend his dual batt setup. I don't think you will find a complete higher quality solution.

Wonder if a group 31 Optima battery would provide me just as much power as two little guys.

and an aimespower 3000 watt constant 5000 watt peak modified sine wave inverter with 4 GFI outlets. Then i ran it all into a stinger battery isolator. And from the battery to invert-er i have 0 gauge cable for max power into it.







I have it looped into a small circuit breaker that is 8" from the main truck battery so i can jump my self from the second battery if i were stranded. That way if i use lots of power it only comes off the aux battery after 30 seconds of power drain detection.

 

That is one hell of a battery and battery tray! How much does it weigh? What are you powering!?

 

After months of fettling, I finally finished the panel to control all my planned electronics, now that i have a dual battery setup. Here's the full post in my build thread. I have one more thing to fabricate, and then it's off to Santa Rosa Cartronics to get it all wired up...
