Mine is not even close to the cap, could run without it. There is no reason to be higher.

Same here, pulley and pump ordered yesterday, Spec-U headers too. Although I don't know do I need the 255 lph fuel pump, someone said the oem is better in FJ and 4Runner than Tacoma.

Btw. What's the right style to open the tank cap? Last time I used big Snap-On pliers, they worked ok.

 

Can you overfill the resi?

 

Im not sure but I'm assuming that the f/p and filter are the same in all 3. After reading up on URD's fuel pump upgrade kit stating the stock filter doesn't last long and tends to clog and the new kit comes with an improved filter.....it was a no brainer. What worked last time to open the tank should be ok this time so long as you didn't damage anything...

 

I had said the 4Runner's is a little larger than the Tacoma's. That due to similarities between the 4Runner and FJ, their pumps Maaaaaaay be the same size. Regardless, no one has yet posted a LPH of either of those pumps, so to say it isn't needed, is playing a game of risk.

 

Which fuel pump did you go with?

 

The urd upgrade kit with the wahlbro 255

 

I spilled a little filling w/o a funnel and then I got it right up to the top. Now I think I have a puddle of it in my frame or something. Stuck a hose in there in an attempt to wash it out. Glycol is kinda like olive oil.

 

I've read Walbro are noisy/whiney compared to Deatschwerks. Granted our tanks are under the bed, and not under the rear seat like a car. Curious if anyone can say from experience. URD provides a lot of info an Deatschewerks and pretty much non on the Walbro.

 

The 255 HP from Walbro is audible. More so when in 'high' mode.

 

Well....with how loud my exhaust is and mix in some more of that with the headers, I doubt itl be noticeable. Honestly, the louder the better.....

 

Nothing to worry about. It isn't that loud. Just be prepared to know that high pictch sound is the pump.

How does the TRD supercharger affect gas mileage? I'm already getting a rather disappointing 14mpg Highway with my 4.0L.

 

Hardly any (maybe 1 mpg) because of the bypass valve, so if no boost, it takes only about 0.5 hp and runs A/F 14.7:1. Of course it depends how you use it, it's nice give a tad of boost sometimes.
