    I knew after this cage that my front end is the weak point right now. Was hoping that I wasn't going to have too many issues for the rest of this season. Oh well. Better fixing it now than breaking in the desert this weekend. Off road trucks sure are high maintenance if you want to make it back home.

    Heat wise it is fine. The hose was just wearing out. The front shock cycles back and forth. The other side is doing the same thing. Just no leak yet.

    Bent grade 8 bolts suck. Had to cut off the head and push it out backwards. Shock is out finally. Should pull the driver side coil over too.

    Going to use the same size bolt. Probably came loose on me. Didn't take much to break the nut loose. Haven't pulled these shocks in I think 5 years.

    Ahhh I remember that, when I got my shocks from Juan they needed a rebuild and that was the biggest pain in the ass to change those hoses. Also Mike, do you have the length and angle that you used for your tube that's under the dash. Doing mine right now and if you had the measurements that would make things a lot easier.

    I did a single bend right around 10- 15 degrees in the center and biased toward the driver side about an inch or two. Watch out with the gauge cluster. Gotta sink that sucker super close to the firewall. Passenger side is easy. I played with a few scrap pieces first.

    Oh yeah the resi end cap is a pain. Still need to do the other side because I changed my valving on the passenger side.

    Oh only one bend? And iirc the tube is about 49 1/2"-50" long I think that's the measurement I got

    I'd go with whatever works best for your style of cage. That length sounds about right, but may add more length because of the bends will shorten up the tube.

    Also what are your thoughts on interlocking tube joints for a fully removable roll cage? It think it would be nice but not sure about compromising strength. Not that I intend to roll it just want to be safe enough.

    If it is a go fast truck, probably not. With a cage you also get the benefit of adding strength to your frame. I'm kinda against a removable cage in a truck. Sports car, maybe because mono-body frame.

    Well the plan is to have it tie to the frame it will just be welded to a plate that is sleeved and bolted to the frame

    Check out tubing interconnects too. Whole bunch of places make them. Removable interior cage is pretty complicated to figure out how to get that cage out of your cab. Try it out with pvc first and build off that.
