    I've never wheeled, but i have lost reception on my CB driving through forest areas. CB just doesnt have the range needed for wheeling, especially with trees and rocky terrain.

    Yeah i have pretty easy access to a 22/23 and 26/27 other than that it might take a couple days to find a gun but its a glock so shouldnt be too hard

    2 meters is a good freq only because everyone can hit the repeater. You can lose someone line of sight, but the repeater has all the transmitting power. One of our local repeaters run by 3M has a 50 to 60 mile range.

    When I was a kid, my dad would take me out with him doing 2 meter moon bounce - bouncing his signal off the freaking moon to talk to someone. Best he ever got was around 500 miles. I still think that was cool as hell, and I've run HAMMER RICK systems all over the world.

    Damn. Getting nostalgic in my old age.
