    Hey all,
I just installed the TheRetrofitSource 2Stroke LED Low beam bulbs. Does everyone else with these bulbs have this same fitment issue? The bulb back protrudes back and squishes the wire (which is fairly rigid, and doesn't flex much) against the frame.
I am worried about 1) the wire chaffing, 2) the bulb vibrating crooked from it being pushed up against the frame, and 3) they seem like they wobble a tiny bit due to the weight of the back of the bulb and the fitment into the socket not being as tight as it should be for how heavy it is.

I would probably wrap some tape around the wire for extra protection.
Did you drive at night yet? Hows the light output?

My bulbs are that tight too. No problem after 3 months of use. Don't sweat it.

I did a headlight alignment after the upgrade to get more light down the road.

Light output is better than stock, on par or better than your average HID. I would say top of the line HID kits are marginally better--but even still, I prefer the added durability, simplicity, and longevity of LED.

My biggest critique would be the color. I prefer more of a white (i.e. 4800k-5000k), and I think these might be 5500k? But that seems to be what most are running. I'm not even sure if I have seen a higher powered LED that wasn't 5500k or so. This is pretty minor, and is really just nit-picking. The fitment, should it prove to not cause issues as the above poster said, is a non-issue I suppose.

I have these bulbs in my high-beams as well (note: had to ever so slightly modify the bulb adapter). High beams are also better than stock.

    Overall, well worth the money.

Tomorrow I'm going to install my XB fog lights to complete the setup.

Morimoto has 5000 raw lumen per bulb listed. I want these 2 strokes but as my high beams.

Did you guys have to bring the male ends of the adapter closer together with some pliers? Thats what TRS is telling me. Since mine are wider than the stock ones?

No--but I did have to use a little bit more force than I thought necessary. Maybe that's why...

I'm thinking about going this route on mine, but I have had oracle Led lights in the past that only lasted about 6 months, I then switched the morimoto HID and they lasted about a year and a half... I would prefer the light output of the HID but I hate having all the extra wires!

How well did your Morimoto male end go into the OEM connecter, mine fits but doesn't go down into the OEM connection well enough for a good connection in both the fogs and Headlights.

I think I will post my findings for all of you. There is a fitment issue with the Morimoto 2 stroke LED kit provided by TRS:

Check out these two plugs. If they are spaced widely apart, that is the WRONG plug. It will fit, but will flop around loosely and become disconnected at the slightest bump. You should NOT be using that plug. TRS sent me the wide one at first, I then called them up and they sent me the second one (green) at no charge.

Even with the right plug size, they don't lock well. When they are clicked together, try pulling them apart. The headlight will go out. The ghetto fix is to plug them together tightly, then use electrical tape to hold them together.

The LED resistor pack/voltage leveler gets HOT! I had to zip tie mine so that they are suspended in the air away from anything they might burn. There doesn't appear to be any way to mount these things flush to metal to help as a heat sink. I'm guessing these things will burn out in a few years since they run so hot.

Overall, I like the light, I like how it looks, and it works well. However, the execution isn't the best. I figure when these finally burn out in a few years there will be better alternatives on the market by then.

    Hope this helps!

Hey woode87, thanks for the post and pics. Also I like your avatar :-D

I'm interested in the process of installing those 2strokes. Did you have to pull the grill and bumper screws to get the headlight housing out or were you able to shimmy them in through some other process?

    Hey Eric, pics?
I just installed the Morimoto fogs and now want to either simply and cheaply replace halogen bulbs with LED in my OEM hedlights, do a retrofit projector type, or Spyder headlights with LED replacement bulbs.

What makes the fitment tight on these is the adapter you have to use to allow it to fit into an H11 socket. I'd be worried about the long term of the wiring being crimped at the end of the bulb like that.
