Thanks, I found them listed under the Hilux pickups. I'm going to be submitting my order soon for some OME goodies. Planning on ordering the Dakars, D6XL AALs and 883s from Lowrange since they have free shipping on that stuff. I'm going to order the bushings and u-bolts from wheelers since they make their own bushing and are less costly. I've already got fairly new 5100s all the way around on the truck. Hopefully this will alleviate my severe taco lean (1.5+ inches) and other suspension issues. The truck has 215k and I'm pretty sure the coil springs are original. The leafs are almost in a negative arch and the truck squats if I set my beer down on the tailgate.

 

Actually, is the bushing kit listed on Lowrange's website, OMESB6, the bushing kit that has everything I need? I can't find a description of what all is included.

 

The rear springs on my truck are crazy stiff. I actually removed a leaf to soften them up and lower the rear down a bit. I had gained so much height and it rode like a brick that I had to do something.

My rear springs were so shot. Before I removed the leaf I "gained" 7 inches. Taking out a leaf dropped it to about 5 inches.

If I had anything heavy in my bed/rear on a regular basis I would consider re-installing the removed leaf.

 

Just ordered my OME parts for the 96er. 883s for the front and Dakars with AAL for the rear. Can't wait to get them in and get them installed. The Tacoma lean has gone on too long and the way it drives is starting to bother me.

 

Posted this elsewhere today but...installed over the weekend, full OME kit with 881s and small top plate spacer. Ordered everything from Wheelers and they were awesome. There was a slight delay because of the shackles being out of stock but it was well worth the wait.

 

If anyone wants to trade 882's for 881's let me know.

Theres still a huge delay on shackles like mid april through wheelers. I had them swap the toytec 1in lift shackles and the price didnt change. They also ended up covering half of the shipping cost because of the wait. Great guys to deal with.

 

Is any one using Dakars to tow with on regular basis? I have SAW coil overs in front and Downey shackles in rear for a moderate lift, I am guessing 1.5", and want new leafs for rear since I carry weight frequently. Haul Dirtbike and trailer at about 300# tongue weight.
Current set up works fine but a little extra capacity and the security of a double eyed leaf has me wanting to upgrade stock leafs which have been known to crack. I am thinking OME shackles and leafs so I do not end up too high in rear while not loaded. Also, currently bilsteins in rear.

 

I don't often tow anything but I throw my #350-400lb bike in the back quite often and they do great.

 

Nice. My stock springs do "ok" and I added a helping helper spring but I think the ome should carry lil more when compared spring to spring, correct?

 

I've been reading this thread quite a bit and narrowed it down to just the basic 881 kit or 882 with AAL in the rear. Purchasing from wheelers.

My main concern is rake... I hate it.
I will not be running plate bumpers. Winch, etc and I will occasionally tow a 500 bike. Mostly street driven and light trails/logging roads.

I will need to clear 255/80/17 and not rub. What do you guys think?

 

Just got my 881's and nitorcharger sports on this morning. Put some new cooper at3's and OEM LBJ's on too. Huge difference in ride quality, truck feels good and solid now and much smoother. I had 5100's with stock coils at third notch up front and 5125's on the rear. Was also running Mickey Thompson mtz's so no surprise it rides better.
I have an ARB bumper with no winch and it has minimal rake. Once it settles, I should have just enough rake to sit level when loaded with gear. I've got my old tires and wheels in the bed in the pictures.

 

The fedex man brought me all of my goodies today. 883s and Dakars with the AALs. Everything will be going on the truck this weekend. Quick question. I know this has been discussed before but I never found a clear answer. One of the leafs has a - on it and one has a 0. Which one should go on the drivers side? Neither spring has an A or B.

 

No "A" or "B" designation? Just noticed you have a 96. Based on this, you either get CS018R or CS019R: The A and B will pertain to 98-04 Tacoma's and are a totally different part number altogether. I would advise to go with the "0" (spring rate at spec) on the driver's side and the "-" (spring rate lower than spec) on the passenger side.

 

This is what I think I remember reading somewhere on here in the past, so take it with a grain of salt and confirm elsewhere.

The - means that that spring tested slightly below average but still within spec.

The 0 would mean neither above or below avg.

A + would mean it was slightly stiffer than avg.

You want the stiffer spring on the driver side, so in your case, that would be the 0.
