A while back, I ordered a rear bumper. Deciding on a Pelfreybilt was an easy decision.

I wanted a bumper with a swing-out, as I like having the spare tire easily accessible and carrying 2 5-gallon cans outside of the truck. Since I tow a teardrop, however, I can't use a full-width swing-out - it will not clear the front of the trailer.

After a couple of phone calls with Satin, discussing my needs/wants, she and Tyler agreed to build a bumper with dual swing-out pivots, leaving me to build the swing-outs. Perfect!

After impatiently waiting for the bumper to arrive, once it did, it sat in my garage for many, many months (this work thing really gets in the way of life!)

Originally, I planned to build the swing-outs complete the bumper before installing it. One day it dawned on me that I should install the bumper now, and build the swing-outs when I get to it. Not a bad idea! (Wish I had though of that sooner!)

Anyhow, here it is! I had some good weather and was able to get it painted, and finished installing it yesterday. I will put some more details about it in my build thread.

I like it! Pelfreybilt is a great company to deal with (they make great skid plates, too!)

Thanks again for the "custom" bumper!

I might be interested in something like this for my truck aswell. I'm always towing something. I know I've seen a double swing out before from someone else but i would definitely be interested in from Pelfreybilt. Would love to know more info.

I just ordered an aluminum front bumper last night, but if Pelfrey made a dual swing rear bumper (so I can open it hooked up to my teardrop) I'd order that too!

My aluminum full hoops bumper will be here in a week, Satin says they just sent it out for powder coating. Gonna be busy putting on the accessories for a few days!!! Can't wait: bumper, lights, winch, snorkel, coils and struts!!!

What did you use to cut the notch out with? I may or may not need to do something similar (haven't ordered the skid yet), but I don't want to take the sliders off unless I really needed to.

This is what I should have done. Instead I drilled through the (sadly) non-Pelfrey sliders and the frame.

Think I'll drop the skid and see if I can notch the sliders like you did to gain a bit more clearance.

I used a cut-off disk on my grinder. You could cut it with a hacksaw - it would take a while, but is very possible.

I don't think you will be able to cut the slider steel without damaging the frame if you leave the sliders attached to the frame.

I had to use zipties to secure the bottom of my grill, not what I would want to do really, but no other way to secure it.

Although not ideal, I guess that could work.

@Socalduckslayer what is the standard mounting angle for your sliders? I forgot to ask that and didn't see anything on the website.

Posted this in another thread, but is there a way to identify on the '16+ if drilling is required on the frame? @Socalduckslayer
